Vicsports new campaign for equality and human rights, is led by Nova Peris OAM OLY. We at Vicsport are inspired by the stance taken by the late Peter Norman OLY at the 1968 Mexico Olympics, we say #illstandwithyou.
In 1968, Peter Norman stood up for his fellow competitors Tommie Smith and John Carlos as they protested against equality for their race. The I'll Stand With You campaign is targeted at all human beings who have had enough of discrimination. It's time to change our direction and start to stand against injustice. Such an important message, to stand with another human being, to stand for love and equality.
I never had the honour to have known Peter Norman, but I have the privilege to know Matt Norman.
Peter's story continues to be shared. His legacy lives on . I am very thankful to you Matt for continuing that flame and sharing your uncle's history with us all.
Peter Norman truly was an unsung hero. I hope his story gets the publicity it not only deserves but the the world needs to hear to heal race relations.

It would seem that in regards to race relations, not much has changed, but I'm glad your uncle was willing to stand that day for what he believed was right. Maybe some day racism & inequality will end...
Shame on australia to treat p.norman,the way they did.the gov of australia should shaft its ass with the late apology.peter norman passed away,years ago,poor and heartbroken.
Time and again , Men like Norman will walk past this earth. They will leave in-erasable impressions on us by their lives lived with convictions. It is for us to make good of their sacrifices and make the earth a better place. Pity the losers...
