I still think the proper name for this juggling trick should be "The Recycle" since it looks very much like recycle symbol or "The Triangle" if you prefer XD
Without your tutorials I'd never be doing as many 3 ball patterns as I can. But my brain and hands are having a hard time working together on this one. I'll get it eventually . Keep producing these great tutorials.
Yes, this is exactly what I wanted for my 4th week of quarantine ! Started to learn how to juggle on March 21st with your tutorial Now I can juggle up to 1 min without dropping and have learnt the 1 up 2 up, half shower, tennis and reverse cascade 😀
I really love how easily you break down each step into digestable exercises. I learned 90% of Mills Mess last night thanks to your tutorial, which was a huge surprise lol. Really looking forward to breaking this one apart too - thanks for putting together such well done videos!
Hello, i am a young french retired who began juggling in July 2017. A few months ago, i saw your tutorials about "Mill's mess" and "5 balls cascade". According to me, your tutorials are among the best of the web. For the moment, i can't do correctly these ball tricks but i hope to be able this summer. I am glad to be able to do "the shower" in the two directions but for the other direction it took me a year. Thank you very much for your nice tutorials. Do take care of you. :-)
You give the best juggling tutorials on youtube hands down. Since last year I've mastered 3 ball cascade, half shower, tennis and I'm pretty good at 1 up 2 up. Now learning this trick which I attempted earlier this year which seemed impossible. Thank you for the content!!
i picked up sooo many other 3 ball tricks before this lol i actually learned pins and 4 ball because i couldn't wrap my brain around it. think by next week i'll be pretty good at this :) thanks again taylor
Ohhh I just saw a mistake I've been making in my toss sequence for the last month. I hope this will help me finally make some progress in this pattern. You're right it's harder than it looks. This is a perfect example why these tutorials are so important for learning. Thanks!
Taylor I love your content. Even though I'm still struggling with the 3 ball cascade. Your enthusiasm and up beat attitude always makes your videos a pleasure to watch, even if I'm not ready for that trick. But I'm excited to get that down so I can come back here and watch this remarkably well structured tutorial as usual. I also love how you include "troubleshooting" in your tutorials because even if I don't immediately have those issues, it gives me points to focus on so I can avoid those habits entirely. Keep up the great work and I wish you great health in this stressful time.
Funnily enough, I learnt the shower pretty easily. I guess it was my obsession with the 2 ball shower and slams but anyway, thanks for another great tutorial Taylor
So glad to hear you say about the difficulty in reversing direction ... I'm all like first day with the new hands when I try to change direction but I feel better about it now.
Every time I watch a video of you, I fall in love with your smile and voice... : ) by appreciating the easiness of your moves, and the well structured advices, to build up a practice path from A to Z. (The path is the goal...) Best wishes from Europe
Hi Taylor! Last night I watched this video, today I am showering 3 balls for the first time :-) The mechanics finally clicked, and now I must work on improving the form. This is so addictive! Thank you very much for your lessons
Few days ago I started learning some juggling tricks and it is very fun😁 And today I started learning juggling with 4 balls and I'm progresing with every minute. Thanks for all these tutorials🤗
Hey, first of all you're awesome. I've been watching so many tutorials about juggling, i'm in the very beginning. I must say, you teach the best, and makes me happy. Thank you.
I read “in the shower” and was wondering why you’d juggle in such a confined space, and that’s when it’s off! When it’s on it’s wet which makes everything even worse
Great tutorial. I learned how to juggle cascade and shower as a kid in 1990'. Learned from tv (pre youtube era when I learned how to ollie on skateboard from a book and broke an arm). Recently I try to juggle for real and try to learn shower from my non dominant hand. I was really struggling and came to this video. Learned shower in about 2 weeks and my shower from non dominant hand actually started to look better than from my dominant hand. Now i have that exercise where I try to juggle shower from one hand as many times as I can a then switch hands and try to beat my score. When I succeed I switch again and repeat.
That was really helpful. Gone back to try and get the shower down solid on my left (non-dom) as I've hit a block for 5-ball and think it's the consistency of my left throws. Had never thought about the difference between sync- and async- showers before...
Hi! I've been trying to do the shower for a while but mine usually turns into a half shower so thank you for sharing this! Backcrosses or windmill next?
"What do I know" Me: More than I do Thank you for this video!! As an aside, I love the duck behind you that keeps moving in and out of the frame between cuts.
I kind of learned it a few weeks ago handing the ball from one hand to the other and then slowly making the distance between hands bigger. Also, it helped me just to make as many throws as possible, not to make pauses. Now I learn to do it with my weak hand.
I've been on this one for a couple of weeks now - It's really giving me a hard time, I can get about 4 arcs on a good run & two in reverse.. It's transferring well to the box though so I'm almost learning two in one. Thanks for the tutorial! I suppose once I hit 5 I'll be able to do it forever 😄🤙
Here are some tips that were helpful for me: 1. Taylor said it, but really focus on the slam throw. It doesn't matter if you don't catch it the first 100 times, but that is the throw that's gonna matter the most 2. Throw high enough. You're gonna have more time between the throws and the pattern is more consistent 3. Practice in front of a mirror. You can see your own hand movement and adjust better (i.e. no claw catching, no diagonal throwing, etc.) 4. Different starting positions. Try to start with two in your non-dominant hand (the one doing the slam throws) and one in your dominant hand. Or even three in your non-dominant hand
I finally did it succefully. Started to juggle from zero one month a go. Now i can do one hand juggling w both hands, half shower, one up two up, no too good reverse cascade, few passes with 4 balls. BTW i throw up with my left hand and across with, right. Im right handed, so try both. Also i found "square" juggling trick training to help a lot with shower. there is a video by Niels Duinker. Cant do that yet tough.
Thanks for the tutorial, I was trying to figure it out myself, and I was throwing both balls in the air before throwing across, which was really difficult and it kinda put me off the trick a bit. Now I'm confident I can learn it!
I literally came out of the shower and learned this trick, "the shower". XD (I've been juggling for a while, don't get discouraged people.) Great tutorial!
It’s like no matter how perfect I get the two ball catch at the same time, as soon as I introduce the third ball the straight across throw just goes out the window. Literally and figuratively
Im currently learning the shower. I dont know a typical progression but ive probably thrown 5-10 hours, and i can now get 6-10 throws consistently, but yet to break 20 catches. Anyway im right handed, but i learned throwing from my left, it felt more natural, probably because in the beginning i thought the 1 was the tricky part and felt better doing it with my right. I started training the other direction, for maybe 2-3 hours total. If Taylor didnt tell me that it favored my dominant side i might not know, it doesnt really feel like it. I can get 2 catches consistently which was much faster, but obviously the timing of the trick is same for both sides. I have noticed i dont claw catch as much if throwing from the right. Maybe it will be clearer once ive mastered both sides. I would never say the dominant/non-dominant hand thing isnt real, anyone forced to be right-handed their entire life will tell you, but i do wonder how much more dexterious our non-dominant hands would be if we didnt spend our lives catering to tge dominant one.
Definitely need juggling bags for this. Trying to do it with softballs has been ok thus far except for this right here 🤣. I work a carnival game and these are my only throwable objects
Your tutorials are always so helpful! Thank you🙃 Also would it be possible to teach the box, I've been trying to learn it for a while and I just cant get it right!
Great video! Could you someday demonstrate how to seamlessly transition between dominant and non-dominant leading hand shower without stopping? I think you might have done it in this video around 7:04 and 7:06 but it was too fast for me!
Good question! The easiest way (which I do NOT do in this video), is to do a box transition. So instead of throwing the ball up and over to the other hand, you throw it straight up. Then when it's coming down, you'll catch it in the same hand that threw it and go into the shower the reverse way. :) The way I do it in this video is that I throw the shower throw up normally from my right hand (to my left), but as it's coming down I drag my left hand to the outside of it and throw an outside throw to the right hand before catching that ball coming down. Then I start the shower the opposite way! I know it's a bit confusing to read that last bit! If you follow me on instagram I can try to post videos of them in my story later today :)
@@mawhel Hey hey! Just wanted to let you know that I did a demonstration answering your question in my newest vlog posted today about the shower pattern! Hope it helps!
How similar is the 3 ball shower to the 5 ball cascade in practice? Is being able to do the shower both ways anything close to being able to do the 5 cascade?
The Library of Juggling rates difficulty of patterns, and has a great page on working up to 5 cascade. Cascade difficulty is 2, three ball shower 5, four ball shower 7, and five ball cascade 9. I definitely agree with that assessment. The first three of those took me 1, 2, and 5 hours to learn respectively (with a lot of other tricks in between). For 5 cascade you practice patterns with fewer balls, like 4 ball fountain, then 55500, 552, 5551, 55550. After prep patterns for a couple weeks, a clean flash took a week, and qualifying (10 catches) took 3 weeks. With those 3 ball patterns, once I learned them, I could run them for a hundred plus catches shortly thereafter, while 5 cascade is different -- you need tons of practice for every milestone. It took a couple months to get 15 catches, and a couple more months to 20, a year to hit 30, and another year to 50, and another half a year before I had a breakthrough to where I consider myself a 100+ catch 5 cascade juggler (and I can transition to 5 ball half shower and back to cascade). I learned 3 ball reverse cascade in an hour, while learning 5 ball reverse cascade feels like learning from scratch all over again (having to spin your hands in the opposite direction).
Taylor at 7:08 - yeah, I can do the shower in the other direction, but it's very difficult and I have to concentrate Also Taylor, at that exact moment: *looking away from the balls and at the camera* 😄😄😄
I Learned juggling the shower first then the cascade. Same with 4 balls instead of the fountain 4 ball shower and 5 ball full shower before I learned 5 ball cascade and now I have a 6 ball full shower. And I think I can do wimpys with six and that's it. I have not got into 7 balls yet. I have a little library of tricks also need to learn six ball fountain might skip it since I can handle a 6 ball full shower and probably can do wimpys with six. So i might move on.......
@@justinwilson4724 and yeah that is how I trained started showers first up to 6 barely ever practiced for 7 ball cascade or 7 ball shower yeah one my juggling coaches said after I dropped a few times he said he was doing a 6 ball half shower much easier to do! and for some reason I cant do half showers very well I mean I can do it with 3 but not more then that! I find half showers difficult after 3!
