@@MattShulman whaaaat. I had a 2jzgte non vvti and it hit so I had to prop the rear of the hood up so I sold the mounts to get excessive to avoid that .-. I hope I don’t run into issues of them constantly loosing up on me
Hey Shulman happy that you're getting. new engine! But how are you going to deal with the lack of top end power the 1.5jz will make? The exhaust ports on the 1j head are much smaller than the 2jz(flows air quickly- but chokes itself out at high rpms). All the 1.5jz dyno graphs(including my setup) all naturally look the same even with 272 cams. Huge torque on the low/mid end but power falling off on the top end. Hope you consider going to a 2jz head in the future for the better flow!
All depends on who’s tuning the car and using the parts to their advantage. Turbo setup as well. The 1j head flows enough. To swap a 2jz head right now isn’t worth it for me.
Alberto’s shop is 🔥🔥🔥I’m in the process of building my 1.5jz thx for this video bro!! Yours looks 💯💯💯
Watch Alberto assembling seem so easy to build a motor. Best of luck to you with the new engine Matt!
Very nice stuff Matt. Good luck drifting this new beast. Dutch regards Nico.
The setup looks sicklkkkkkk!!!!!
Excited to see this engine in action. Seems like a dream spec!
What pulleys, cam gears and crank dampener are you running?
With the isr mounts your gonna have to do the Honda hood prop to make the engine not hit
Hood clears fine!

@@Nonexsisting I don’t have a stock hood so that might help. I hated the excessice mounts they always came loose

@@MattShulman Got it! Looking forward to seeing the setup on the dyno!
Did you need to modify the oil gallery for the block and heads oil gallery to line up?
Nope just slap it on and go
@@MattShulman did you use a 1jzgte hg? or 2jzgte hg?
