Do you ever get lost and can't find your camp when your out walking. ? I would get lost. All those woods and trees . I would have to hang markers on the trees just to find my way back.
I have a map and compass that i can use and if I get totally lost i can use the GPS on the phone. But try not to use the GPS so i learn to use the map and compass. I usually take ame on something fare away when I walk, and when I reach it i take ame on something new...if i just walk by feeling i will go in circles.
The problem I have when clearing an area of rotting tree trunk like you did. In New Zealand we have huge ugly Wetas & I would never sleep there. They worse than spiders

Pure madness, to go to such a steepy place, surrounded by lots of debris, dead trees etc on your own where you could fall or trip and no one can help you...And to make it worse drinking wodka, beer to feel tipsy...

There was no fire bane but must of course be carefully with the fire. As you say it was a lots of stuff that can burn.

The one we have is small so no problem for me. And no dangerous spiders and snakes either fortunately 🙂
