I seem to remember in your earlier videos you said the other trail hikers weren't so friendly as on AT but that seems to be changing. Your mileage is incredible. Must be those German genes!!
Take care of yourself Juliana. I think these are the easy days, with just heat to deal with. Add altitude, cold "river crossings" and of course snow, and, superior scenery ahead. I have been previewing the sections ahead from this year and last, as well as distant memories of hiking the JMT myself. I know that you must get hiker hunger, but I cringe at some of what you are eating. Coffee is a a bit of a mixed bag and like red wine, there are always new studies that showcase some benefits. It gets murky and depends on who funds the study. Can't wait till you are past the desert! Sunscreen reminder!

I know you said you had people complain when you use music in your videos, and I loved your response to that. You are such a great inspiration! Dumb question. Do the wind turbines in California have blinking red lights at night like they do in Texas? And could you see them from camp or while walking the aqueduct? I almost drove off a highway in Texas one night, trying to figure out what the sea blinking red lights were about. They were everywhere! Both side of the highway. Got stopped for erratic driving, officer laughed at me when I explained why (and that I was not under the influence 😳) and told me they were wind farms. Fortunately, he didn't give me a ticket. Guess he figured I would drive like a sane person now that I had the 411 🤷🏼♀️. Yay 🎉 for trail magic!!! Doesn't seem as frequent on the PCT and CDT as on the AT. But then you don't have a gap and a road/parking lot every 5 miles like on the AT so makes sense. Tell my 83 yo mom, who drinks around 6 coffees a day, that coffee isn't good for you. That woman can run circles around me 😂. Happy trekking! 🥾

Did you hear the birds screeching after being hit by those wind-turbine blades? Turbines are such an assault on the land. Am much slower and was among those turbines for days and days.

California is mostly semi arid until it becomes forested, its not an east or midwest state!
Forests are farther north.
