I'm attempting this,.I felt as if they 1:1 of pink horror and flash yellow didn't look like yours. So I did 2:pink 1: flash yellow Still trying to figure the skin right WAAAAAGGGHHH 😊
@@thepaintbeast from which technique should I start painting adventure. Is there any fundamental trchnique? I want to avoid useing speed or contrast paints at the begining. Are washes necessery part of painting?
Omg i love this style! Definitely gona give this ago! Will there be a longer vid to show how you fully paint this? That be great!! Also list of the paints u used? Keep up the good work
Thank you! That is very much appreciated. Yes, both parts of the tutorial should now be uploaded to my RUclips shorts. I will do a long form video showing this colour scheme one day as well :D
Found this scheme and love it, just drybrushed a squad of 10boys this way, obviously not as well as this. Went to start using the contrast paint and it doesnt show up/adhere to the drybrush stages. 😢
@@thepaintbeast much love for the reply, yeah so i prime with pro acryl black as with all my minis and did the drybrushing stages etc, I've since found out its cos the contrast i was trying to use on the models, well is pretty trash, tried a few other colours and they has no probs adhering ontop of the drybrush stages!
Hello, amazing ork skin! Amazing... Everything! Can you tell me what is the colour for this red "metal" on the axe please? A citadel contrast? Thank you :-)
This looks fantastic but I would say its a little deceptive to call it slapchop. It's not really slapchop, you are still layering and highlighting with regular acrylics,
Thanks for your honest feedback! I'll be creating a long form video showing the process that explains why I start with purple and end with the scheme I chose. If check it out at the time I'd be very appreciative!
I always thought a fun idea for purple orks would be to 3d print them with translucent purple resin to give the illusion that they are invisible
OMG that would be amazing!
I've seen a few boss snikrots that use that idea, it's awesome
they are invisible if they don't move (Drax talking)
I love the dry brushing. It almost gives them a night appearance
Thanks! Yeah, perfect for Ork Commandos!!!
We so need a full video of this! I assume it's technically the same as your underpaint video, but still! Love it!
Thank you! I have a video planned for "unique" drybrush colour schemes so stay tuned.
@@thepaintbeast You're welcome! Thank you for making these! I can't wait! :D
This is fucking sick. I’m subscribed and suuuuper excited to see the videos to come.
I'd be tempted to stop after the dry brush 😅 really cool effect
Yeah a few people have also said that to me. The gradients are really cool once drybrushing is done!
Vibrant colors. Very nice 👍
Thank you so much 😊
Really cool presentation
Wow, interesting effect! Thin layers makes things. Thanks, it will useful for me
That looks tight!!
Nice combo! Great result!
thats really cool man, really nice transitions as well
Thanks! Yeah, I'm very pleased with how this one turned out!
This looks amazing!
Hi, I’d love to see a full walk through on this colour scheme.
Thanks! I'll make a long form video for it one day :)
I love how you gave it just a shade of grimdark.💚
Thanks! Absolutely! I love a bit of grimdark!
Very nice paint job👍
Thank you!
Ive never seen floating color in the air, thats some impressive painting sir
Thanks. I just sort of waved the brush around and then suddenly it was there. Sneaky orks!!!
At first I wonder what you were holding as nothing was there...but after the painting I saw it....Damm those Orks are sneaky bunch they are
This is how i wanna paint my deathskulls as my first paint project, the purple is amazing
Amazing!
Dude sick!!!!
🤯😍 perfection 🤘🫶
Thank you!
nice, thanks 4 the inspiration.. might try
What the hell that's friggin amazing
I have the Kommando orks on my pile. Will consider this video
Please do. Let me know if you use this method and how you get on :)
Good job! Tnx
Thank you!
Thanks
Thank you!

So I did 2:pink 1: flash yellow
Still trying to figure the skin right
WAAAAAGGGHHH 😊
I love how it came out but I always felt like orks are susceptible to "too much contrast" where it starts to give them a skeletal look
Հիասքանչ է
Amazing work, wish to had just a small amount of your skill.. 😉
Thank you! It took a lot of practice and i firmly believe that anyone else can do the same :) I'm always happy to offer advice!

Thanks mate! It can take a little practice.
Oh no, I wonder why that is? I don't think I've had that problem. Did you prime the minis?
@@thepaintbeast much love for the reply, yeah so i prime with pro acryl black as with all my minis and did the drybrushing stages etc, I've since found out its cos the contrast i was trying to use on the models, well is pretty trash, tried a few other colours and they has no probs adhering ontop of the drybrush stages!
I love the effect. You think it will work with black primer? 🤔
Thanks! It will work with black primer as long as you stick to the other colours. The overall look will be darker but it should still look good :)
🔥🔥🔥
Hello, amazing ork skin! Amazing... Everything! Can you tell me what is the colour for this red "metal" on the axe please? A citadel contrast? Thank you :-)
Thank you! Very much appreciated! Yes, it's Blood Angels red contrast paint!
nice what did you use on the vest after the drybrush?? looks great.
That was some good ol' Contrast Wildwood :)
@@thepaintbeast nice, I really do love that color
Bad ass
Does this work on grey/white contrast/speed paints?
It does. Check out my long form video to see the colours i use for the drybrushing. My next video will focus on the contrast paints.
Great effect. Are you thinning the contrast paints down with any medium or adding them neat?
For this the contrast is neat but there is very little on the brush so it acts like a glaze rather than a contast paint.
Shiiiit that’s tight
I must need new glasses… for a second there, I thought I saw a purple orc.
Does the contrast paint work well with color in the base coat and highlights? Do they mix weird?
I’m not well versed on color theory, but what purpose does the pink serve?
What did you use for the brown leathers?
you showed 2 contrast greens here, how do you apply them?
I use an old, large brush and make sure to not put too much of the paint on the brush :)
Is it really slapchop if you’re doing multiple layer paints afterwards, and it’s only one area of the model?
Yes :)
Slapchop is the first stage. Then layers after. The method is called Slapchop Plus. :)
did anybody see what was getting painted?
Oh no! How did that happen. I swear there was an Ork there!
But where the orc?
What ork?
This looks fantastic but I would say its a little deceptive to call it slapchop. It's not really slapchop, you are still layering and highlighting with regular acrylics,
Agreed, it's what's called Slapchop Plus by most painters. So start with Slapchop, then add some extras :)
Layer layer layer...
Exactly, you get it!!!
Seems like a lot of paint
Its a few, but the process is fun and I think the result is good. :)
Такой красивый покрас, такая игра света и тени в начале, а в конце показали будто другую миниатюру, обычную, тусклую и серую
Thanks for your honest feedback! I'll be creating a long form video showing the process that explains why I start with purple and end with the scheme I chose. If check it out at the time I'd be very appreciative!
Я обязательно посмотрю!
Мне очень понравилось то, как миниатюра была покрашена в начале - выглядит так, будто бы он находится ночью и на его плаще играет свет пламени
Lil git
Wotzat! Git! Too right, and proud!!!
