my school did this musical this weekend and we our theatre teacher actually built a whole 16 foot dragon and it’s eyes moved and mouth. it was amazing.
Are musicals in two weeks that’s actually what I’m watching this video for i’m taking notes to make sure dragon is singing it right then I’m listening to all songs and checking off to make sure they are sung right and I’m not required to do this I’m just a musical nerd lol
I think it would’ve been better if someone else was controlling it. The singer has too much to do/think about at once, and it’s clearly affecting the performance.
This would make for some great real life role playing, like reenacting the scenes with Donkey and dragon in it. Although the large dragon needs a team to operate her. She needs to have a 100 foot tail to wrap around him.

Reed Morgan I checked and The Crown Uptown Dinner Theater's website is still up and looks like they still might have some plays and/or musicals in the Fall. Why is that if they clossed thier doors as you say? Very cool version of Shrek buy the way, I live in Milwaukee, WI or I'd love to see a musical or play there.
Allison Burke They used to run a new show every other month. Then they layed off their entire theatrical staff. If they do a show, it will be the Christmas show and it probably won't be a musical. Of course, I moved away almost a year ago, so they may have decided to make a fifth attempt at revitalizing that theater in the meantime.
Awwww sad comments both - you try singing, manipulating puppet while it’s pressed against your stomach & lungs, coordinating vocal sounds to match pulling the puppets mouth, and walk around doing choreography. She made it work. And most of the comments disagree with your vocal opinion. You gotta take everything into consideration. She did an outstanding job…including her whistle tone @ the end. Maybe your opinion would have helped if this was a full out PROFESSIONAL Broadway production, but it’s an AMATEUR high school production. Gotta take all this into consideration.

I’m dragon at my Shrek and I used this as an inspiration with like the roars at diff lines and stuff and that’s made it improve!
The dragons voice is AMAZING, but the puppet is kind of a disappointment. Not very many expressions, and missing cues while she sings.
