Every country probably has its advantages and disadvantages. It is said, the work-life balance is generally better in Germany, but ultimately it can vary greatly from individual to individual. Anyone who wants to have a career here must clearly make it a priority, or at least that is what their superiors must assume. Anyone who sees family as their first priority must see how they get on. Even though I always tried to spend time with my children in the evenings, most of the upbringing in total remained with my wife.

These days...both men and women want to have both career and private life right?

    Hello again! :3
I hope you're doing well! Whenever I see you camping with your family, I really want to do that again, too. When I was a teenager I used to go camping with the local church group almost every summer for two weeks, it was a lot of fun.
I'm always amazed how cheap some foods are in Japan and the chicken looked so delicious ♥ Here you'd pay at least 2-3 dollar for one of those chicken cutlets. Norway is very expensive, I think it is the second most expensive country in Europe (after Switzerland). I wanted to ask: Would you consider adding a list of ingredients in the description for things you cook? If it's not too much trouble :3 I'd really like to try some of the Japanese dishes you cook, because you make preparing them look so easy.
Those pizzas looked amazing, by the way! I think you're great at cooking :3 I was surprised that you made tuna pizza, because whenever I mention that to someone from say... the US or UK, they're horrified for some reason. It's super common in Germany and I'm pretty sure, also in Italy. It's one of my favorites :3
It's unfortunately pretty similar here in regards to women taking off for raising children. Still rather old fashioned, though there are more men who do it nowadays and I know that Germany has some kind of law/system that makes it easier for the man to take that time off too. I'm glad that the pandemic has at least brought something good and I hope you get to spend more time with the whole family from now on!
Your Christmas tree is so pretty! And also the rest of the decorations :3 We put ours up this weekend, but we don't have a tree (yet). As for Christmas preparations, in Norway everyone cleans their house for the holidays and they buy tons of the traditional food. There are some Christmas concerts in churches and local Christmas markets. I don't know if there is a tradition about when to decorate the tree here. My family always decorated it early on the 24th of December (the days we actually celebrate Christmas in Germany and Norway, as opposed to the 25th). Germany also has the Christmas markets, on a much larger scale than Norway. Also lots of Christmas movies on TV and Norway has two radio channels that are entirely dedicated to Christmas music from November 1st. And we have advent calendars too. I'm currently trying to finish my gift knitting in time, so that's my personal preparation haha :)
It's kind of sad that you didn't really get Christmas presents, but I hope that has changed now that you prepare for your own Christmas celebration. Does your family have a specific tradition besides the fried chicken/strawberry shortcake one?
My weekend was pretty much spent on the couch because I was sick, but my husband was with me, so it wasn't terrible. He had the last week off, which was really nice. He works in health care, so sometimes he isn't home before around 11pm. His shifts are either from 7:30am to 3pm or 3pm to 10:30pm, also on weekends.
    I hope you'll have a great week/weekend! ♥

Thank you for commenting me all the time, Maren🤍
I really love to read your comments. I'm relieved to see that someone is interested in my videos😌.
I will add a list of ingredients in the description things I cook next time. But as you can see, I often don't measure the amount of food carefully, so it may not be helpful😅.
I’m happy to know you also like camping and Tuna pizza! Tuna is the one of the favorite food for my daughter. She is so obsessed.
Have you researched Japanese Christmas customs? Yes, many people who have young kids have fried chicken and cakes. Many Japanese people are not religious, so there is no proper Christmas treat. But we want to make our children feel special, so we prepare a fancy dinner. Some family have hand rolled sushi… some have sukiyaki…my family have different dinner every year. This year, maybe 🌮 tacos…🤔❤️
Many families do not decorate the Christmas tree, especially in homes without children. It is rare for a Japanese family to decorate a big Christmas tree like ours. Almost no one decorate stockings and many people don't know the custom.
I envy the Christmas markets in your country! There are few shops here to pick up nice ornaments and Christmas goodies. I couldn't buy Christmas candles again this year because they weren't sold anywhere.
Thank you again for connecting me.
      Stay warm and healthy ❤️

@@tomomo3108 Of course! I really enjoy your videos, so I want to leave you a comment ♥
Ah, that's no problem :3 I usually wing it too and rarely measure, but it would be great to have a list of what to put in :)
I have to confess, I am not a big fan of fish in general, but I love tuna. We often have tuna pizza or tuna salad sandwiches.
Not researched per se, I watch quite a few Japanese vloggers and that's how I learned about the whole KFC and fried chicken thing :D And some things about Japanese culture in general. To be honest, I don't think Christmas is much about religion anymore, these days. There are a lot of religious people in the west, but most people just want presents. I'm not religious, but I just like the cozy atmosphere with all the lights and pretty decorations. For me it's a time to spend more time with my husband, just being with each other. And wow, tacos :D Can never go wrong with those! I feel like I've been stressing way too much about dinner because something fancy is expected.
We don't do stockings either, I think that is mostly US/UK, but Germany for example has a custom that kids put their shoes outside the door on the night before December 6th, so St. Niklas can put gifts for them inside. But only good kids get gifts, naughty kids get coal. Back when I was in kindergarten they always had someone that dressed up as St. Niklas there and I remember being super scared he'd say I was naughty xD Norway celebrate St. Lucy's day on December 13th where young girls wear white dresses and a light crown, marching in a parade or something. I haven't actually seen it in person before, just bits and pieces on TV.
Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that... Not even on Amazon or Rakuten? :/ I wish I could send you some, they are EVERYWHERE here. All kinds of decorations, really.
You're super welcome! ♥You stay warm and healthy, too! (Also, yes, I am doing better :3)
