I was going to say something similar. I was going to suggest (too late now) that they cut the sides and bottom as normal but only cut the peaks of the top (from the inside). Then they could have pushed up the cut metal so that it folded on the uncut parts. Two poles placed at the far ends outside and the roof is done. Isn't hindsight wonderful.
Good morning Lumnah family ☕️ currently 22 degrees here in Philadelphia, preparing for a NorEaster, minimal snow coming.Happy Saturday, have a blessed day
You amaze me Al with how perfectly you construct just about anything. Gina is a great assistant also. The soup looked delicious and Figaro always makes me chuckle.
Good morning! -2deg here. End of January and February is the coldest here. After all these years I still like wood heat the best. Great job on the container - will make a great cabin in the woods. Hope everyone is healthy and happy!!
Good Morning, Lumnah family. Cool shots of the frost melting on the wood stove and Figero's shadow on the pole. Here in Southwest Michigan January and February care usually our coldest months.
Good Morning Guys! 🥶 thank God you got the off grid property for plenty of fire wood. So glad to see all the progress on the container project!👌🙏🌬🔥 sending heat your way, February is our coldest month also tks goodness it's the shortest...
Al, is there anything you can't do? I am so impressed with your work ethic and skills. You amaze me with your never ending energy. Gina, I'm amazed with your energy as well, and how you're always working right there with Al. Y'all make a great team.
Al, maybe use the removed steel from the container to make simple awnings for the windows and Slider? Just enough to deflect any falling debris from surrounding trees and a bit of rain deflection.
Good morning Al, Gina, Olivia, Figero and puppies and chickens and goats LOL you guys have a big family!! Good job on the cabin coming along nicely!! Have a blessed weekend!!
Good early Sunday morning, just getting up to watch your Fri post. How exciting to watch your preparing of the new mini-home. The scenery is just AWESOME!! Nothing as cute as to see Olivia greet the goats of the morning’s and to watch Figaro’s.
Perhaps kind of heavy material for awning but excellent idea for Mike's suggestion for loading ramp material. Love watching all y'all are doing! God Bless.
That door is going to be nice in the Iff grid container cabin. I love Figaro! He is so handsome and I love when they jump Way up High to see higher up. Thanks for sharing your off grid and Lumnah Acres with us. God bless! 💜
Hello my wonderful family it’s took me all day to finally to get to eat your video from East earlier this morning. But no matter what time I watch it, it’s always s pleasure to watch your journey. You ask never slow down you all are always building to improve your homestead and that amazes me
Al, have you given consideration of building your new home over looking the pond near your outhouse? My vote would be living in a house overlooking a nice sized pond like that or a stream as long as there is no possibility of flooding.
That is what I would do. I would build a house/cabin by one of the ponds. You would have a nicer view plus you have water for animals and use the pond for swimming (depends on how deep the pond is)!!
@@tomrausch7014 I'm 72 years old and the older I get, the more I appreciate a one level home. I know it's cheaper to build a two story house, but the value of a home will be greater over looking water. By building by the pond they can watch Libby and her friends ice skate, and someday grandkids enjoying the pond.
@@barrydavidson525 Yes, while I’m only 62 my last house was a Ranch style, but had a steep driveway and a narrow hallway which didn’t work for the MS I was just diagnosed with. We sold and had a Ranch house built that was accessible. No more wood stove either, but natural gas furnace. If we sell this house in a couple years I expect we’ll get top $ as the master bedroom and closet have 36” doors. We have a wheelchair shower too. Those with the small living room 2 story homes WILL have a harder time selling. I do appreciate what Al’s trying to do with the wood stove and cooler in the basement though.
we are getting rain for a change near Sam Diego. so far as if last night we made up the deficit. here's hoping the rain continues to come in so we aren't offically in a drought.... again! we're soooo far behind yr after yr.
Cabin is looking good. Can't wait to see it with the sliding glass door completed. What a great view ya'll are going to have looking out the back. Deck is needed out back....just a small one that you could sit outside and enjoy that beautiful view and weather. That is once it warms up.
Good Morning to all at Lumnah Acres. Stay warm. Can't wait to see the door installed and the scenic view. Heat up hot chocolate on the fire to stay warm.☕☕☕
Good Morning. Yes, February is the worst month of the year. This year I told all my sons drs that we were taking the month off so We are planning a month of staying in! It’s the UP... it’s really cold and snowy. Our average is 10 feet of snow per year, we are behind right now so that means it will snow all at once soon. Enjoy your day... build on. ☮️-Kirsten

You commented about February. I am in northwest west Mississippi and it is also our coldest, nastiest and wettest month. Love your show and your family.
Good morning Al, Gina and Olivia, having a warm up here in Colorado! 42 degrees and its only 8:00 am, snow is headed our way for Feb! I have a suggestion to repurpose the steel you cut out for the door, use it as a roof for the deck! 🤷♀️just saying! Have a great day!
