Great video! This is the type of practical video I prefer. Good to see you again.... I miss Pattaya & Unixx folks. Interesting you made this video as I was wondering how to get to Hua Him from Pattaya. You solved that issue for this subscriber. Thank you 🙏🏻
Many thanks for the lovely comment. Hope you are doing well! I'll try to find more topics like this one. Pleased it landed at an appropriate time for you!
Great info !! Another travel tip I would not have known about except for this channel !! Yeah the 3 seat across system "business class" type seating looks fantastic.
Many thanks for your comment. Pleased to have passed on some info! The seats are great. So much more comfortable than 4 across, and useful if you're ever travelling alone!
Many thanks for that, Alan. I wasn't even aware of that bus station in Hua Hin before making this trip. Looks useful for anything between Pattaya, Hua Hin and the airport.
Thanks, Tony. Yes, the ferry was definitely much faster. Unfortunately, it hasn't run for several years, and now they've sold off the boats so it's not coming back anytime soon :-(
I paid 3000 for a taxi service last May direct to HH Hilton and it was worth it and a hr quicker. Don't see a scenario where I'll do this route again but pricing and time seems fair.
Thanks for the comment. That taxi fare sounds right. If time is important then it's still the best available option. Otherwise, if you don't mind the extra hour, bus is decent value.
Thanks for sharing this. Do you know why the closed down the (only?) ferry service? 5 hours one way is a pain and just about makes it a little too far to nip over to Pattaya for the day or a night.
Thanks. From what I read at the time it just wasn't making money. A few times it couldn't sail due to rough seas, and there was some talk that the vessel they were using wasn't the best design for the route it was plying. There was talk about it coming back, but covid put a stop to that, and I read the ferry was sold off and, that one, won't be back. Shame because it's the obvious route to go given the two resorts are nearly opposite each other!
@@balloonchaser thanks for replying. Yes I hope they reinstate the service as it’s an obvious route and quicker. I’m consisting living in HH over Pattaya for the first time in years. Being able to nip over to Patts for a day or two would be ideal!
@137dylan I think another company will give it a try in the future. With the right kind of boat, pricing, and marketing, then why not? But who knows when?!
I remember using Bell Travel, their buses were smaller and very comfortable! Are they still running? They had there own separate building in the bus station!
@@johnerdelyi4208 Not unless they've moved it , John! It's on North Pattaya Road down the Sukhumvit Road end. Jomtien Bus Station is near the junction of thepprasit Road and thappraya Road, next to Food Mart.

Good review. Also not certain why they are requesting ID for a domestic road journey. Probably for something benign like good old fashioned identity theft. The AC on some buses in SE Asia is insane. Sub zero temperatures are obviously what some passengers are looking for. Blankets or coats definitely required.
Thanks for the question, Bobby. They didn't offer Cha Am as an option, so I'm guessing not. But it might be worth double checking with Roong Ruang Bus Company, just in case
Hi mate. That's a great idea. But of course I'd need to find someone who could lend me a bush suit! Who'd be crazy enough to bring one of those to Thailand? Haha
Thanks, Jan. It was certainly advertised as being "new", but I guess in reality it was suspended during covid and then relaunched with a higher price. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks, Larry. I did check if you left this message on April 1st but apparently not! You'd be a much braver man than me to do that! I get seasick on the crossing to Koh Larn!
Not sure, Andrew. It was carbonated coffee being sold in cans and what looked like wine bottles. I was sold on the funky packaging. Life saver on the day cos I was starving!
ขอบคุณครับ คุณชาลี. I'm just trying to be one page ahead of the masses. A lot like we tried to be one page ahead of the students, when we were teaching together!

I will do in Spanish.
good review, thank you, cheaper and quicker than i expected, i seem to remember the ferry was faster but way more expensive than this

great video and very informative thanks

Hi can you get off at Cha Am ?
Thanks for the question, Bobby. They didn't offer Cha Am as an option, so I'm guessing not. But it might be worth double checking with Roong Ruang Bus Company, just in case
Yes you can, the bus stops on the main road, step off the bus and you'll see a lot of motorcycle taxi guys. They will take you to your hotel 50 BAHT.
Excellent review. Maybe do it dressed as a bush?

HUA HIN = WHAA HIN good video though thanks 👍
Have to disagree with you on pronunciation, but no worries, I appreciate the positive comment. Cheers!
Sorry to say, but this is not new. I’ve used this exact same bus service long before covid
The price is new, because it was almost 100 baht less back then
Thanks, Jan. It was certainly advertised as being "new", but I guess in reality it was suspended during covid and then relaunched with a higher price. Thanks for the comment.
I rented a jet ski for a week. I'm taking the water route. Much shorter. Leave in morning , water calm. My girlfriend won't go , so I'm going solo.

Winey - hangover drink 😮? +1

they could make more money and the trip better by selling food/drink, blankets etc. Quick BC get the franchise.
If I'd have had the franchise for blankets on that bus, I'd have been able to pay for a pool villa at the hotel mate!
Ah nope, too long a drive. Have Bangkok Airways offer a flight from Pattaya to Hua Hin, 🛩
Not aware of any flight from Pattaya to Hua Hin. The only internal flights from U Tapao are to Phuket, Samui, and Chiang Mai, I think.
Unfortunately no flight service to huahin.
