- Romain Virgo wurde schon in jungen Jahren zu einer großen Nummer: Mit nur 17 Jahren gewann er einen populären jamaikanischen TV-Gesangswettbewerb und ist seitdem ein Star in seiner Heimat. Mit zahlreichen Hits hat er seitdem bewiesen, dass er weit mehr als nur ein One-Hit-Wonder ist.
1990 in Stepney, Jamaika, geboren, singt Romain erst jahrelang im Kirchenchor, bis er 2007 beim Talentwettbewerb "Rising Stars" teilnimmt und als bis dato jüngster Teilnehmer auch gewinnt - da ist er gerade mal 17 Jahre alt. Mit ein paar tausend Euro Preisgeld und einem Plattenvertrag in der Tasche nimmt er in der Folge zahlreiche Hits auf, viele davon sind heute Klassiker: "Mi Caan Sleep", "Who Feels It Knows It" oder "Taking You Home". 2010 erscheint sein Debütalbum.
Heute ist Romain Virgo einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der aktuellen Roots-Reggae- und Lovers-Rock-Szene. In seinem Sound verbindet er Dancehall, Afrobeats und HipHop, seine Texte decken eine große Bandbreite an Themen ab: Von Liebesliedern über sozialkritische Tracks bis hin zu Texten über falsche Freunde und alleinerziehende Mütter ist alles dabei.
Im Lauf seiner Karriere hat Romain Virgo mit Starproduzenten wie Don Corleon (u.a. Rihanna, Sean Paul und Migos) und Winta James (Damian Marley, Protoje, Chronixx, Tarrus Riley) gearbeitet. Virgo pflegt zwar ein gewisses Saubermann- und Schwiegersohn-Image, bei seinen energiegeladenen Livegigs räumt er aber gnadenlos ab.

This was so incredible to witness yesterday, we were standing in the Front right, what a vibes, and that amazing power rise up in the last 15-20 minutes unbelievable, the recording cant Match that live Thing to witness but still good live stream, with the big amps and that Bass, holy cow, the running Bass at "switch you on", unbelievable, more fire, a must watch
