Thank you for this video. I never thought coffee could trigger my uncomfortable hot flashes. I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. Had my treatments and surgery currently in hormonal pill. I still consuming coffee with latte. Having coffee relaxes me and even before and Thank God, it did not cause any sleep disturbances even drinking it at night. More power to your channel Dr. Griggs. Watching from Tokyo Jpn.
im a silent reader in this group as a friend suffered from B cancer too. We are both coffee lovers ever since college. She was diagnosed 2 years ago, has surgery, and now recovering. If i remember it right, she is taking this supp called Tamoxifen which she gets from Nextchems. Her doctor approved this for use. I hope might help.
Thanks for writing from Japan. See if backing off on your coffee could help you hot flashes, but taper the caffeine slowly.
This revelation just blew me away. I thought for sure it would become something forbidden. Happy to continue my 2 cups a day.
If your a real coffee hound. Like a pot full a day. Throw out your auto drip coffee maker . Get one of those Krueig style. 1 cup at a time. Coffee maker. Enjoy gormet coffee's without waste or over doing consumption. Works for me!!
Finding a way to enjoy your coffee without worry is a great comfort. Thank you for sharing your suggestion for fellow coffee enthusiasts! Enjoy your cups of coffee, savoring each moment.
Dr. Jennifer Griggs God Bless you and COFFEE, COFFEE and COFFEE

I can’t speak for anyone else, but chemo effected my taste so bad, I couldn’t continue my caffeine during treatment.
Same. I can't even smell coffee right now. Haha. usually I love it.
@@kaleiam6246 it all comes back after treatment! Lol! 🙏🏽🫶🏽
We're sorry to hear that chemo had such a strong impact on your sense of taste. It's a common side effect and can indeed make certain foods and beverages, like caffeine, less enjoyable. Your experience is valid, and it's important to listen to your body during this time.
Chemo affected my taste as well to some degree. Water tasted like salt water and I had to put a flavor pack in it to get my water in, at least for a few days after chemo.
Thank you for your videos which are always helpful. As I’m now on week 2 of radiation, is it safe to drink one cup of coffee in the morning? I’ve eliminated so many foods from my diet due to their restrictions. I’d love to still enjoy my cup of java 😊
There is no reason that you cannot enjoy your morning coffee. Thanks for watching.
At 91, my breast cancer has come back to visit after 22 years. Now at 3.8 cm. 😢. Had 2 cm lumpectomy in 2001, plus 6 weeks radiation which means a lumpectomy is not recommended at this time. No pain whatsoever so will try to see if coffee will affect the Tamoxifen or vice versa. Feeling like a Guinea pig 😄. No mastectomy is being considered at this time although I’m in good health for going on 92. (Some hypertension) An ultrasound is planned in 3 months. I’ll be in touch and welcome your thoughts.
Thank you for sharing your journey with breast cancer returning after 22 years. It is possible that this is a new cancer rather than a return of the first cancer. Many people are put on endocrine therapy such as tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor before surgery although surgery is considered superior in an otherwise healthy patient regardless of age. Understanding the reasons for this treatment plan by asking questions may be helpful in receiving the best treatment. Questions you might ask include, "Why is surgery not being planned for me?" "Is my age factoring into your decision?" "If I prefer surgery, would you be willing to do surgery?" "What might I expect if I don't have surgery?"
I hate caffeine. I just like decaf coffee. If there is a good impact of it possibly would it matter if it is decaf? Like are all the other compounds in coffee present in decaf coffee?
Many of the things that may be of benefit in coffee are indeed present in decaffeinated coffee.
Ty for the information

Cheese chocolate and coffee can cause migraine in some cases !
I have read some experts saying that the migraine has already started when some people begin to crave cheese and chocolate as a kind of prodome. Then it is easy to blame the migraine on the food they last ate. You might want to look into it.
Indeed! These are migraine triggers for some people.
