Splendid rendition. Gave me chills. And thank you very much for the excellent translation of the text.

For me, the most moving rendition of this song (my all-time favourite) since Victoria de los Angeles. Where is this amazing singer now?

one of the best young duos around. Have seen four of their Wigmore recitals. She has it all - glorious voice, charm, honesty and stunning looks. He's one of the best young accompanists, always unfailingly imaginative piano playing. thanks for posting. I wish them much luck in the future. Check out their Sonimage CD of Spanish Songs.

Strange rubato from the piano, somewhat inauthentic. Beautiful voice, but it doesn’t need to be belted out. The lyrics are a clue.

Tempo too slow for my taste, it does not flow. Also, the diction could be more accurate at times. Nice voice though! The solo in the piano part I think should be freer and rubato-like, more passionate, in my opinion.

Could you recommend me a recording with good diction and a good sense of time? I am having such a difficult time finding a satisfying recording of this. Maybe besides Roger Padullés and Ian Burnside.

@@labemolmineur for instance the one with Victoria dels Àngels and the composer at the piano ruclips.net/video/gOfdp1k8sSk/видео.html
Even though it's obviously not a recent rendition, it's always a good idea to listen to the composer if available :)

@@pauchalo Thank you. I know this rendition, and I honestly do not believe it reflects the composer's intention. Mompou was very old at the time, and de los Angeles was a star with so much weight to her name and her presence, and she could do what she wanted.

@@labemolmineur ok maybe you're right. What about this historical recording? ruclips.net/video/tsp3GC4OOAw/видео.html
I know it's not complete though...
