- A truck loses control and crashes into a fire engine along a highway in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Firefighters were already on scene responding to a rollover when all of a sudden the semi jack-knifed and flipped over. Firefighters run off the road to avoid getting hit. Miraculously, no one was hurt. Inside Edition Digital has the heart-stopping video.

Kalamazoo Fire Department should invest into a blocker truck. I remember watching a video about how a blocker truck for the fire department helped save someone

The salt attaches to the rubber. You have no traction. Its like having plastic tires on ice. You have to send all your bills to the state and local government.
It seems like that bit of road is particularly slippery and that is why I think there was a rollover car being attended to. Now there's a truck. Just a speculation.

Box truck driver failed by not aiming high while driving noticed the fire truck too late had to slam on breaks to avoid collision causing the truck to lose control. 💯percent avoidable

I'm speculating but it is likely that this particular piece of the road didn't get de-iced by salt. I point to the fact that there is now a truck and a roll over car impacted by this piece of road. While some salt can stick to rubber tires, it doesn't adhere strongly and is generally considered to have minimal impact on the rubber itself; the main concern with road salt is its potential to corrode metal components of the car, like wheels, rather than directly damaging the tire rubber. The state probably is obliged to de-ice roads so they can have their ambulances get out to calls.
