This is one of the best vids I've found on this particular plant. I mostly grow carnivorous plants so this little (well mine is like 4 for in diameter so not very little lol) fella was giving me trouble.

Ginger is great for tropical gardens.
Suggestions for an area with 8+ hours of direct light in N. FL?
    Turmeric seems more tolerant.

I am about to buy this plan online from seller in Florida. never heard of it before but after watching your video I don’t think it will survive in Northern Nevada. The humidity is 25% and even if I add the humidifier, it’s probably going to still be too dry for this plant. Thanks for saving me some money 😂

Your welcome. Yes this is a tropical plant that loves humidity. A lot of it. I hope you find a plant the gives you a tropical feel in a dry climate. To tell you the truth most tropical plant thrive in humid conditions that’s why they are in those areas naturally.

Do you know if this plant can to grow by cuttings

Yes you can and here are they ways. Stem division propagation is generally carried out in late spring and early summer combined with repot. To do this, remove the large clump of Shell Ginger from the pot and divide it into 3-5 small clumps with roots with 1 or 2 new shoots. After dividing the bushes, plant them in a pot with underground stems and roots. Shell Ginger has two propagation methods: stem division and tissue culture. Tissue culture propagation of Shell Ginger is maliciously used when a large number of seedlings are needed. To grow roots from a leaf you cut will not happen or at least I never got lucky by cutting my neighbors back in the day.
