The reason why the action is better in this movie is because they changed the original director with the director of John Wick and Atomic Blonde. He’s also happens to be a really great stunt man.
Also in the last movie the ran out of budget for weapons in the last scene, which is why deadpool forgets his bag with weapons there. Maybe the lack of CGI was for a lack of budget again?
All of the Moist Meter reviews have been pretty spot on. Except for "Black Panther" Besides some amazing visuals and stylish characters that movie was terrible.
After the unfortunate death of Domino’s stunt double, a lot of the X Force city sequence had to be reshot and reworked. This need to create alternate content so late resulted in a lot of CG resources being reassigned, resulting in some of the more rushed or lacking shots.
Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool is probably one of the best superhero portrayals of all time. Right up with Robert Downey Jr, Hugh Jackmen, Heath Ledger and so on.
If Deadpool's bad jokes aren't at least somewhat annoying whenever he is onscreen then it would be a disservice to the character. The cringey credits and bad references are actually legit classic Deadpool traits.
Antiform it's not that the credits were cringe, it was the fact that the theme was just repeated from the first movie, which may be one of the references you refer too, but at the same time, if anybody could shake things up, it'd be Deadpool

It really is better than the first one Characters are extremely well developed (except the kid, I agree he just angry for the entire movie and then not), and I really appreciated the development of Wade, he’s got some serious issues and inner problems in the comics and it’s nice to see this movie balance him out more and you see his entire personality.

You wanna know the reason the CGI was bad at points? So many superhero movies coming out lately, every VFX company struggles to meet deadlines; but they NEED to take all these jobs on because many, especially smaller studios, even take the contracts at a loss because they need some grounds to gain exposure - meanwhile the big ones lowball offers just to stay alive, because Hollywood doesn't want to pay for Visual Effects as its a 'nerd job', despite it being a huge part of any good superhero action movie. The VFX industry is in a really bad state and its only getting worse; and no one is doing anything about it because the companies are powerless. As someone myself entering the industry in a year or two; i'm dreading it...
Right?? The people at the showing I just went to, including me, were giggling for a minute afterwards at how fucking absurd that last bit was... with the endless silly string cum. It wasn't funny, just shockingly weird. Not interested in seeing it, but it got a reaction, so kudos to them I guess.
That scene with the Prius driving into the petrol station, holy shit I think everyone mentioned how shit the CGI was on that. It's like they hired an intern to do it.
just got back from it. haven't watched the first deadpool but this was a pretty good movie. all kinds of self aware humor - "that's just lazy writing right there", "the academy is watching" etc. definitely glad I picked this movie instead of Solo
Holy shit dude. You are like the third person to agree with me on how much better the second one is! And it took me two years to find you. I love your channel!
@XXXFlare while sure it’s sad, and the political significance of the movie was huge, *and* Chadwick had some great acting, it doesnt take a way from the fact that the movie on its own was only decent and the GCI was abhorrent at times. I could have done some of those scenes and it’s would look the same. That final fight didn’t look anywhere near professional.
I love how I've read many reviews on IMDB which all agreed that the jokes and action were significantly worse in this one but I instantly disregarded them as soon as Charlie started talking. Will watch tomorrow when I get the chance. Thanks C.
TheReddDynasty I barely remember that scene. But nothing overly stood out in that part. Maybe cause the cinema I went to didn't show DP on one of the major screens

I absolutley loved the shot where they showed the Vanisher skydiving. You never really know if he actually is there and just seeing an empty parachute flying had me cracking up good
To be fair this movie had a much much larger budget because with the first one marvel didn’t think people would want an R “superhero”. The whole reason they left the bag of guns in the car was because they didn’t have the money to add the affects for the fight.
Agreed with the first Deadpool rating, the issue I think is that cape shit in general is very bad which is why when you get one in a eternity decent movies in the genre people are going to say it's 10/10.
Only thing that sucked about this movie was the X-Force team getting killed after barely 5 minutes of screen time. I get that was the joke, considering how often the team changes in the comics.. but I thought it was kinda bullshit as the entire advertising campaign was based on THAT specific team. However, the reveal of who was playing Vanisher when he died had me howling with lol 😂
I agree on most of your points but would give it about a 70-75. The bad CGI really distracted me during what could have been a cool fight there. I hate that the x-movies keep saying the surprise villain is a mutant when he really isn't, so I'd have gone with someone completely different. The good guy arc for Wade of the story was a bit over done. If there is another one of these I hope they go a little darker. The thing I personally liked about Deadpool was his rather unpredictability, but in a plot like this there's no room for it. Best handled character I thought was Domino. She steals the spotlight when she's on screen for the action stuff, imho.
Dopinder should get his own movie. It could be about his random "missions" with Deadpool and everything that happens after like when he goes back to his normal taxi job he might pick up one of the people Deadpool was fighting with or something. Idk I just really like Dopinder.
I think it woulda been great if any movie had an opening sequence where the character keeps seeing the credits where normal text should be, and freaking out
Ya, I agree, the beginning wasn’t too great and was going down a bad trajectory. But like you said, after the x-force showed up it was pretty hilarious and amazing.
I had no "laugh out loud" moments when watching this movie. There is a lot of satire, a lot of references and a few obligatory "4th wall" shit. I sniffed my nose at a few scenes, but only because I felt like I had to. I'd still rate it a 75% because it's a solid comedy film and you can tell Ryan Reynolds put a lot of heart into his character.
Pretty much the only way to introduce Cable... Deadpool was introduced in the comics as a bland villain So why not introduce cable the same in the movies?
