one of the best films ever made, perfect blend of very interesting and hilarious writing, perfect cast and an awesome redemption arc with killer cultural references. 10/10
I like to think that guy was never a software engineer, he just repeated what they said to him to act like he could report them just so they'd buy the subscriptions.
I don't think this movie is very underrated, but it was a VHS rental staple of my generation so I'm biased. I gave you a thumbs up anyway because it kicks ass and I just wanna take the safe route.
I like how a lot of people are laughing at the concept of an unemployed software engineer as if it’s a relic of the past. I just started an entry level IT job and one of my colleagues who also got hired was an unemployed software engineer with commercial experience for 6 months (he also had a college degree).
I didn't get the particular quote from this movie, or maybe subconsciously I did, but me and Michael Bolton both have a tendency to say "eat my ass" as a sign of disapproval.
Love this movie. Hilarious thing is that even if they came up with a perfect money laundering scheme overnight, the stolen money would still be traced back to them 😂.
The best part of the film is how Peter is oblivious to his girlfriends' shenanigans. First, everyone gives him knowing looks when he says he thinks Anne is cheating on him. Then Drew tells him that Joanna slept with Lumbergh, and when he tells Michael and Samir, they go, "you didn't know that?"
You must be a genius or something, i didn't catch that. Did you catch the part when peter says "wanna come over"? He said that because he wanted the company of his neighbour.
@@JohnDoe-yr3lmI think it was because he was with the other girl the entire time he didn't listen to gossip about Joanna. So she wouldn't know who she slept with.
Nah, Office Space came out in 1999. Seinfeld finished in 1998. The first Babu Bhatt episode was pretty early on too, around season 2 or 3 (1991 or 1992).
🤔🤔🤔 Just only me or anyone see wich the young Orlando Jones really look's like Tyler James William of Everybody Hates Chris???... And he (Orlando) make two Episodes of the Sitcom!!!...
It was implied in the movie that Milton took the check Peter slid under Lumbergh's door because Milton is later seen relaxing at a resort beach. Milton thought it was his paycheck that he didn't receive. It was also implied Milton burned down the building which involved a can of pesticide he was asked to use (for the cockroach problem) and all the electrical power boxes in the storage room he was forced to move into. Plus, you could see him walking away skeptically as the building was burning down. He knew what he did; and didn't want to be seen or be suspected.
I am no expert here, but isn't money laundering only required when you have to disguise the source of cash? Once the money is in the banking system it is "clean". Or am I missing something?
They have to disguise the source of the cash here because they obtained it illegally. Just because it's already in his account doesn't mean it won't look suspicious to the IRS that he very suddenly came upon a windfall of cash with zero explanation.
The guy who played Michael was one of the original cast members of Madtv back in 95. The only time I ever saw him again on the big screen was in a small part in "Dude, where's my car?" where he's a stoner. The other guy Samir had a tiny role in "Bad Santa"
He might have said "initech" on accident, or maybe it was just re-recorded later for technical reasons and they didn't match it perfectly. His lips do look like they say initrode..
11 year old video, picking up Not mad - the movie was gold And since I always butch and complain about the movie title not being in the comments Deep breath The movie is : Office Space
I like how Ron Lumburgh and Bill Lumburgh being related is still worrisome to Peter.
Lawrence's line at the end is gold. Lawrence deserves his own movie covering the same timeline as Office Space, but centered around him.
omg, like asap lol All of them
an underrated comment, that line at the end threw the wall, don't want you effin up my life either.
I'd like to see him do a movie where he lives this life, and then also lives a double life where he runs REX-KWON-DO

"No thanks man, I don't want you fuckin' up my life too, bud."

I honestly think he had it best through the movie. Dude was happy with his lot in life and was realistic about what he had/could obtain.

That guy actually did teach them how to launder money he just pocketed bribe money through his job in a way that wouldn't draw attention.
i mean if an investigator actually looked at it and saw 40 subscriptions to that magazine from the same name he'll probably be suspicious
@@ross-ij6qn Not really. Weird yes, suspicious no

Hi from 2023.
A.I replaces us all
I miss these kind of movies!
I love how Lawrence implied that Peter is inviting him over to fuck his life up, as if that's something Peter enjoys doing as a hobby.
"You are a very bad person, Peter."
I think that was kind of a wake-up call for Peter and why he decided to take the blame for the theft himself.
Peter Gibbons is embarrassed and hurt feelings from what Samir said to him
God how cool it would have been to have a bro neighbor 3 taps away at any given time
Fantastic movie. Captures corporate life so well - ayone who has worked engineering, IT etc. for a big corp recognises this world.
Nerd

It doesn't get any easier with experience....just saying.

You can bet on it man.

The casting in this movie is unreal.
Everyone is crazy for Lawrence but Bolton is soooooo good here.
the cruel joke is if these guys toughed it out a bit longer they'd all be making half a million salary at facebook
