I met Dave many years ago at a t.v studio it was about does crime pay ..he was a gentlemen to me and my daughter ,said if we ever needed help in life just go to his club and ask for him …we had a lovely chat and a laugh ,I never did go to his club The Dogs B…… however I never forgot Dave and what a nice guy he was ..R.I.P Dave 🙏 my thoughts go out to his family and friends
Dave Courtney, the king of the street, With a grin that said trouble and eyes that cut deep. London's heartbeat echoed in his stride, With Brendan by his side, a brother in the ride. Through smoky rooms where the deals were made, He played the game, but never afraid. A gangster's life, but laughter too, His stories as wild as the roads he knew. "Stop the ride, I want to get off," he'd say, When the world spun too fast, too hard to stay. A phrase like a wink, a nod to the wise, In the whirlwind of life, he saw through the lies. But last year the ride came to an end, And we lost a hero, a legend, a friend. Now Brendan stands with a heart full of pain, Wishing to hear Dave's laughter again. In the shadows of London, his memory stays, In the corners we laughed, in the words that we say. Rest easy, Dave, though you're gone from sight, In our hearts, you're still fighting the fight.
Bless Dave 💔( I’ve got all his books) My love to all his family and friends 💙 I lost my 25 year old son to suicide during lockdown, so I understand. I urge anyone who’s struggling, to talk to someone, anyone. 💙
Very powerful to listen to; the inner-strength to go through with such a decision is off the scale IMO. What an amazing life + character. God bless him…❤️ x
R.I.P DAVE. YOU MAY BE GONE BUT YOU SURE IN THE FUCK WON'T BE FORGOTTEN. 🙏 To all that have been effected by Dave's passing. Nothing but luv from Florida. 👊🇺🇸🗽🇬🇧👊
@@littlebunnybunnyWe all tread the path we choose Siobhan and i remain unafraid of them because death is not the end, it is the beginning. But what we do here maps out our path for the next chapter hon. You take care as well, we will all need each other in the coming days.
So sad to see this, i suffer badly with rheumatoid arthritis and can understand this ,the pain you live in everyday is so hard. All the best to Bren 🤝. And to you Liam 🤝
I took Dave and Jenny out for a Chinese in Spain some years ago now 2008/9. He was something else. Sadly gone now. RIP Dave and thanks for the laughs u gave me. ❤
Brendan always comes across now as a fantastic human being. This contrasts to the days of running his plant business where you always had a sense there was a hidden dark side in that World he lived in. Brendan could/should do his own podcasts, he must know a lot of interesting characters? I would profer an alternative view that suicidal thoughts is a mental illness that needs to be treated by a Doctor. That is why this assisted dying bill is so dangerous. Just because someone feels down one day does not mean they would not have been happy the next. Suicide is "not" fully thinking of their family and love ones, even the pets! He should have seen a shrink during the year and a half before hand. Look at Stephen Hawkin, he did not commit suicide and he was in far worse state than Dave. Yet he went on to marry, have children, lecture, write books and carry on making a mark in the World and all he could do was blink!
Nice Liam. Enjoyed the whole podcast. I remember Dave from when I was little. Plumstead, Woolwich & Bexleyheath way. He was good to me. Also, the podcast has become very polished from the early days. Takes a man to admit he's wrong. That video apologising for getting the early recordings wrong takes some bolocks. More power to your elbow, sunbeam!
Sounds like he must of been planning to get off the ride for a long time, its very sad caus dave was such a likable rougue and funny guy i loved listening to dave on youtube, never met him personally but i felt that anyone in his company for half an hour would walk away liking him even if they didnt beforehand, brendan was a proper good friend visa versa,
As all self-respecting Dandies know, suicides are the aristocracies of death. They represent a triumph of style over life: Sebastian Horsley Dandy in the underworld. R.I.P Dave ❤
I said it on some channel a while back but in the last twelve months, somewhere, a baby was born with big blue eyes and obviously a bald head. People are surprised at how funny the kid is, and how hes scared of nothing. He'll be talking a bit now and when his parents took him to the fairground, he pointed at some big contraption and went stop the ride, I'm getting back on. He's asked for cigars for Christmas as well.

When I heard what Courtney did for the Welsh miners in the strike in 1984 he gained my utmost respect
What did he do
He did nothing, all lies.
@@alookintoourlife2553 he used to bring van full of food and bring a few boys with him and stood on the picket lines to fight the police
