Sometimes it’s so annoying when fans/audience yells and disrupts the song! Most of the time it’s OK when the whole place is really loud such as concerts but when it’s like this, it’s just annoying and I’m sure it can distract the artist if they weren’t expecting it!
They were doing the fanchant for the song! The fanchant is created by onewe/their agency for the fans to join in at very specific parts of the song (most kpop groups have these fanchants). It won't distract the artist because they are expecting (and hoping!) to hear it. Especially in festivals like this, and since onewe don't have a lightstick, it helps to let them know that they have weves there supporting them. They actually really missed hearing the fanchant during the pandemic when, even after they finally got to hold concerts again, the fans weren't allowed to make noise (to avoid spreading covid). You can often see them get visibly emotional and happy listening to the fanchants while performing, they'll even take out their in-ears sometimes while singing just to hear the fanchant better (Yonghoon didn't have in-ears for this performance).
