Very helpful, Anthony! I just bought a 2002 Rancher 350 ES last night and the guy mentioned that it didn’t like to start when cold. Thank you for letting us know about the carburetor primer bulb. So helpful! Other topics were helpful, too.
Great video thank you. I bought a new Rancher brand new in 2001, still have it. Awesome machine, it’s a work horse, I plow with mine, and I have pulled a 12’ drag behind it to prepare a large backyard for reseeding grass. I’ve replaced all the wheel bearings, brakes, drums, master/slave cylinders, rear brake cable, and the tires 4 Times. I’m pretty anal with oil changes, I’ve got over 20,000 on it. This machine influenced several friends of mine who were former Polaris owners, quick story here, up north in northern Minnesota many years ago, ice fishing at a friends cabin, myself and 10 others were preparing to venture out with our 4 wheelers and tow behind sled/collapsable fish house, the overnight outside air temperature was -24, everyone else’s Polaris 4 wheelers failed to start, I waited until they were all done jump starting, spraying starting fluid and getting theirs going before I fired my Rancher 350 up, the primer button was the ticket. The very next day we were out on the ice about 3 miles, it was getting late and we were packing up to head back to the cabin, one of my buddy’s Polaris failed, the starter broke and his recoil broke also, he had no way of starting it up. My little Rancher 350 pulled my fish house, my buddy’s Polaris and fish house the 3 miles back to the cabin. The very next week my buddy got rid of the Polaris and was the owner of a new Rubicon 500. I’m not saying Polaris is bad, I’m just saying Honda’s are reliable. Thanks again for the video! Happy New Year.
A great bike!I had the same bike, only in red.Was the best bike I have ever had.Almost no problems at all with it.Have a 2020 Honda 420 now.Liked the old bike way better.
Had mine for years. Choke cable broke long time ago, been using prime button ever since. Other than that, rear brakes froze up (probably from salt) and added a fuel filter - runs great.
I am looking at one now , Not sure of hours or miles on it, But from photos , It looks really good. There asking 2000 for it. I'd like be at 1500---1800 , But I say price is firm, Is that a reasonable price on it?? Your review makes me feel good about buying one...Thanks!
Yeah I would say 2,000 is good as long as it’s in good shape.. I always ask if it has ever had a plow on it or if a young kid (even though I was when I got mine lol) owed it just to see how hard it was driven.
@@tyl12d2 It sure looks to be in good shape, Said older man owned it and had taken care of it...And it does look to been taken care of from the photos. Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it!

Thanks for the video. I just bought a 350 ES. How did you mount your license plate? I really like the placement as opposed to it dangling from the rear rack!
I know this was a long time ago but I used the 2 push pin holes that were already there just took out the clips and put bolts and then drilled the bottom two holes
Hey man, thx for the calm explaining in this nice video! Here's the thing I,m about to buy a Honda TRX 350 Fourtrax 4*4 es here in Sweden year model 2005, is there any major differences (xcept 4x4 of course:-) from your 2wd es that I should think of? Its very good to know about every little thing since its my first atv. Is it equipped almost like yours would you say? I mean the basic functions and not xtras of course. Regards Tobias
Yes they stuck with the same stuff from 2000-2006 I mean I’m sure that maybe some things are different but for the most part all the same! Hope this helps!
@@tyl12d2 oh yes, but it only took your video to convince me really so I,m buying it! Pretty much everyone elevates these Hondas too appearently so... Thanks for the "buyers tips" in the vid!
The ES you don’t have to worry about that just means Electric shift so you do it with your hands rather then your foot but I have never had a problem with the ES going out other then when my battery died one time put it comes with a little handle in the rear storage box that you can shift with to get you home until you can get a new battery or charge the battery. The 4,000 miles I would say that’s in the middle for a four wheeler. Really you just got to look it over and make sure the person took care of it and didn’t beat the crap out of it and make sure they didn’t use it to plow because that’s really hard on the machine. Hope that helped! Let me know how it goes!
I know this is a 8yr od video, but I just had a used 2000 Rancher 350 ES given to me, and I've been slowly replacing parts. Tire sizes, in relation to wheel (rim) sizes confuse me. Mine have 25x8-12 front and 25x10-11 on the rear. Does anyone know of a chart or diagram to use for proper wheel (rim) options?
@tyl12d2 Cool, thanks! Good to know. What about the wheel size? The ones that are on it are pretty banged up. How are the measurements of wheels read in relation to the tires?
ssp6767 no It didn’t come with it from factory. It was just put on by someone but yeah I ended up getting a Warn 2500lb pro vantage. Warns are the best winches you can buy!

Yes and no... if the battery were to die and the electric shift goes out there is a stud underneath and towards the back from the oil cap that you can put a special tool on to shift manually to get you home. That tool should be located in their rear compartment that would’ve came with the four wheeler‘s tools. Hope that helped!
