- Thanks for watching my econ videos. In this episode of EconMovies. I use the 1988 movie Twins to talk about South and North Korea and the ongoing debate over socialism and capitalism. EconMovies are, by far, the hardest types of videos for me to make. Let me know what movie you want me to do next.

Apparently there's no perfect system but if I choose one, It's capitalism...!!!
Someone said: "Socialism works where everybody's name is Sven".
@Jacob Clifford! These econ movies are so clever. you gotta stay up late to think of these amazing scripts!
Good Job, Mr. Clifford!!
Really slick, well done!
Great video!
econ is the best
Denmark and Sweden are market economies. They hate being called anything socialist.

Hi Jacob! I think you're an incredible teacher and you definitely make basic econ fun, which is why I found this video a bit of a let-down due to its misinformation. The only thing you got right here is that Twins was a good movie. I almost don't blame you for being this misinformed about a subject when an official news network like nbc seems to get it completely wrong as well. Firstly when discussing North/South Korea, Venezuela, and other countries that claim to be socialist/communist, its ridiculous to mention the state of their economic system without mentioning American blockade/sanctions that punish and isolate them from the rest of the global economy. Its pretty awful to suggest the North Korean people went through years of suffering and starvation because they didn't have "the incentive" to work. Also, planned economies don't equal socialism or communism. The decision of a government to nationalize its industries doesn't necessarily equate to either of the two as well. Its all about who owns the factories/companies that produces our commodities, and who makes their decision as to how they're run. If its not ultimately the people/workers, its not socialism, just government/authoritarian-run. As far as the government distributing wealth as what it deems fair, what would you call our tax system?
Thre opportunity cost of watching this video and learning nothing caused me to loose an hr of sleep 😴 lol 😂.
* only 5 minutes of sleep. Maybe it reduced your stress and you slept better?
