she wouldn't have been laughing had a chunk of anything hit her, don't think they realized the danger level. Well done whoever shot the video..thumbs up.
The Salt Lake Temple was the only building in the tornado's path on that day that did not sustain any serious damage, despite many trees around the building were blown down and several buildings had their roofs torn off. I guess God does protect certain places from harm. Those people afterwords may have said, "that cannot shake a wedding!"
When you have 6 feet of solid granite for walls vs a EF2 tornado that building isn’t going anywhere, the pulse from a nuclear blast will do some damage or a EF5 aka “the finger of god” will relocate that temple fairly efficiently
She appears to be a hell of a woman, heard no bitching, crying, screaming the world hates you. Congratulations to the bride, anything lost on your wedding day I have a feeling will be paid back double or triple because of the waynyou and your husband took this with smiles on your faces.s
They were standing in the west side doorway to the Salt Lake Temple....It was very interesting to see the tornado hit from that pov. I grew up in Salt Lake know the area very well. Cool video.
Wonder if the couple are still married? 🤔 They're LDS so I'm going to assume they are still married and probably have at least 4-5 kids, oldest being around 20 years old by now.
Lucky Noxx well that's actually not entirely true. look at how many churches have been destroyed since this video. Not to mention the mass murders of worshiping amd praying people that have occurred inside churches in the US.
Kevin Day Remind me how many LDS buildings have been shot up in recent history... oh, that's right. None. Also, there is a difference between churches and temples. Temples are where we do sacred ordinances (marriage etc) whereas church buildings are just where we meet every Sunday.
well the good thing is that they won't forget about the day of the wedding. during my grandma's burial ceremony the lead vehicle of the funeral procession caught on fire and was almost totally destroyed.
Their are a whole lot of different mesages you can get out of this video. 1 Are they still married? you know what i mean. 2 the flag not ripping off.... America! 3 this is a epic memeory!
"The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WEDDING for the following area........ Please look out for smoking hot bridesmaids, horny groomsmen and a super-sexy bride. Also watch out for flying debris such as garters, wedding cake, or anything else that could be tossed around in strong winds. The ranking of the tornado will be determined at it's reception."
and especially watch out for IDIOTS online who will write disgusting comments because they feel they have a right to. Disgusting AND idiotic. What a mix.
I was visiting town, and having lunch across temple square from where they were at, and saw some flickering of lights. (in the mall eating). Came out, and saw the destruction, and just pitched in clearing branches from roads. The crane operators must have had one heck of a ride! (Unless that was the one death)
That tornado could have easily killed all of them had it been stronger than it was, but these folks stood there laughing. I don't think they understood the potential danger, they couldn't have.
Honey it’s not true love... it’s called ‘this is the only way we can legally have sex.’ Most young LDS people marry so they can go to pound town. Sadly most of them at the time were so clueless the church had to put out a ‘marital aid’ book because the kids said their sex’s lives were so shitty and disappointing
So did they not open the doors for the people trying to escape the tornado because they didn’t have their temple recommends/Costco cards as proof to enter?!?!?
Uhh, no, recommends wouldn't have mattered at that point. They probably didn't know they needed to come in seeing as it happened pretty quickly. People who were inside the temple that day report not even knowing that was going on outside.
Those doors do not open. The entrance is around on the north side, which was the way the tornado went. The worst damage was further down West Temple Street where a couple of bars were destroyed. No one around the Temple was injured.
@xamguti All Mormon temples are dedicated with a special prayer. The prayer includes a special blessing that keeps the temple safe from any harm that may come its way. And btw... A sturdy structure has nothing to do with it. In Moore, Oklahoma, all the homes were built on incredibly sturdy foundations and they all got flattened.
A tornado at a Mormon event makes perfect sense. Even a few lightning strikes. Maybe the tornado is the part where if anyone here has something to say part.
"That's a tornado!"
"Yeah, now lean in and kiss."
Youmaynowkissthebride*smooch*oklet'sgetoutofhere!!!
Seriously... it’s just a Tornado but let’s get that photo! 😒
That photographer is an idiot . How many dumb comments can he make in that span
RIP the one person who died that day. You guys were very lucky, and THE CAMERAMAN WAS A CHAMP
"If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace"
Tornado:
Rain on wedding day means a long happy marriage
A tornado on wedding day means an eternal family.
Nice! 🎉😊❤😊🌪️
Who's side was the tornado invited from, the bride or groom?
lol
The bride. It's always the bride's side.
When your future mother in law objects
That tornado was an EF2 with winds up to 125 mph the strongest tornado to hit salt lake city Utah in the US in Aug 11 1999
she wouldn't have been laughing had a chunk of anything hit her, don't think they realized the danger level.
Well done whoever shot the video..thumbs up.
3 people said. Thats a tornado. before it hit. No one batted and eye. just doesn't happen often in salt lake.
Wow I'm seeing this video exactly 20 years later on the same date! Happy 20th anniversary!
nearly swept everyone of their feet!
Hope the loving couple are still intertwined.
thanks for sharing!
This is incredible and awesome. Never thought I would have seen it from this POV.
Holy cow, you guys caught amazing footage of this!
Looks as though that couple weathered their first storm together. =)
My sister lives in Salt Lake area and remembers that day vividly
They didn't think to go, i don't know, INSIDE?
They couldn't get inside from those doors. It's the Salt Lake Temple and you can only enter through a main door which wasn't that one.
+loganhistorian Plus you're not allowed to go inside unless you are LDS so anyone that wasn't had the potential to die.
DUMB
Correction: those worthy to hold a temple recommend may enter only.
Door is locked.
"Dearly beloved..... we are gathered here today to witness a freaky-ass tornado...."
Lol
well that's one story they should tell their kids and grandchildren
I was there that day. I was working on the conference center. Amazing!
Me too. I was in the temple & non of us had any clue what was going on outside.
I was dropping my brother off at the MTC. My mom wanted to go back and get him!
If they could make it through a tornado , they can make it through anything
We need a 25 year anniversary recreation video!!
Why did't anybody say, It't a twister it's a twister?

It rains on the just and the unjust. The Houston temple got flooded during hurricane Harvey.

Congratulations you are one lucky bunch of people that’s the wedding day No one will ever forget

What a extrodinary memory to have.
The tornado wanted to be part of the weeding it showed up late
lol
I think that tornado wanted to sweep her off her feet. get it?...lol XD
lol
lol that was a good one XD
Cool video and all, but I wish there was a way to know who filmed it. Maybe consider a watermark next time.
My Wife and I where married 1 month after. :D hope these two are still very happy together...
Heaven Father wouldn't let the temple nor those people get hurt or damaged.
Lucky Noxx well that's actually not entirely true. look at how many churches have been destroyed since this video. Not to mention the mass murders of worshiping amd praying people that have occurred inside churches in the US.

No he only picks out the bad ones in Oklahoma . Trailer parks . Schools.
There is a door right there and the temple staff still wouldn't let them in?
Cool video, The bride looks like Kylie Minogue back in the 80s :D
+RichieRouge206 Her hair was more Helena Bonham Carter. It _was_ the '90s, after all
How scary. I'm glad everyone was ok
Mother nature the ultimate bridezilla
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A WHIRLWIND ROMANCE! :)) Hope the tornado did not spoil a great day. Good luck.
Camera man is a 🐐

Plot twist, after that they became avid storm chasers.
"Don't mind me, just wanna wreck stuff..."

lol
Yeah they are horny alright, can't have sex until they get married way too young.
and especially watch out for IDIOTS online who will write disgusting comments because they feel they have a right to. Disgusting AND idiotic. What a mix.
***Warning head phone users,*** big mouth screams loud af and my headphones where on 100%
I'm late to the wedding but why didn't you go inside? You guys are so lucky it turned and didn't hit you head on
There wasn't an accessible door near them. It's a sort of alcove place where people go to sit, think, pray, or take photos.
that is my dream wedding!!! and good pick he's cute.
Imagine you just got married and are talking some pictures and a tornado forms and goes right by.
A super close call here.
This couple had guardian angels watching over them!
Are they still married?
Dean Williams
Darren Schmitt Yes and with kids:)
Mike Loveridge and Makinzee were the bride and groom. I don't know if they are still together though. I don't know them personally.
Why would you think they might not be?
Maybe they researched the truth about American history
A whirlwind romance! Their union is a force of nature! Try to not make it a TURBULENT wedding... 😊
yeah and then now, it s happens again like 6 days ago because of windstorm ! Sept 9 2020
These guys got so lucky the tornado didn't hit them directly. I mean it was an EF-2, which is unheard of in Salt Lake City.
Actually it was an F2 which translates to an EF3.
THAT WAS TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
No. That was twisted!
Would not postpone the posing to document the funnel cloud and tornado? How stupid.
That’s nothing when I was my Mission I was a Dust Storm in the Outback with Mission companion from Provo hope you guys where safe
Priest: Speak now, or forever hold your peace.
God: If you say so.
goshadowkenny the only thing you got wrong was the priest part
I was visiting town, and having lunch across temple square from where they were at, and saw some flickering of lights. (in the mall eating). Came out, and saw the destruction, and just pitched in clearing branches from roads. The crane operators must have had one heck of a ride! (Unless that was the one death)
I thought the death happened in some parking lot. Guy was hit with some camp display?
perfect for each other
Stormy windy wedding for stormy and scary marriage! Was the bride scared and frightened buy the stormy windy wedding!
It gets pretty crazy after 2:22!
That tornado could have easily killed all of them had it been stronger than it was, but these folks stood there laughing. I don't think they understood the potential danger, they couldn't have.
American Highlander
True but also Utah isn’t exactly known for tornadoes
@@RCmaniac1231 What does that have to do with anything? They're standing there watching the tornado tear sh*t up, it's common sense.
@@RCmaniac1231 Or for intelligence, apparently.
I guess it was a whirlwind romance...
damn only 19 days and it will be 4/20/19 colimbine shooting
It's 2019 Right now, I'm in the Future.
atleast i wasnt born at that year but i live in UT
ha so many people have stood there to get their pic taken
Notice no sirens are going off
Yeah there's no tornado sirens in utah because there's not usually tornados in utah
I
There tornado siren in utah
if I was there I would be Lord help me I would be crying and screaming
Well there sure were a lot of OMG's
If it was an F5 if it got closer to them at all it would have been dead you know how lucky they were God protected them absolutely
These married couples if they are still married probably still bring up getting Married when the Tornado ripped through Salt Lake City Utah
Because screaming always helps.
Even Reid Timmer and Maria Molina couldn't pull this one off. Kudo's.
Tornado Wedding Crasher 💔😥
IT WOULD TAKE MORE THAN A TORNADO TO PUT A DAMPER ON TRUE LOVE
Honey it’s not true love... it’s called ‘this is the only way we can legally have sex.’ Most young LDS people marry so they can go to pound town. Sadly most of them at the time were so clueless the church had to put out a ‘marital aid’ book because the kids said their sex’s lives were so shitty and disappointing
They still married?
They had a whirlwind romance.
those people were in grave danger.
God protected them they could have went so wrong so fast to them could have turned into an F5 they would have been all dead so lucky it's amazing
Photographer seemed more interested in taking pictures of the tornado then the happy couple.
Ha, my first marriage WAS A TORNADO.
Great story for their kids one day
Amen
So did they not open the doors for the people trying to escape the tornado because they didn’t have their temple recommends/Costco cards as proof to enter?!?!?

@@kimberlysevastyanenko3798 I’m honestly just surprised it didn’t jump over the temple. Growing up that’s what I was told tornadoes did at temples.
that reminds me of Walter oh look a little cloud holy shit lol.
screaming about how their hair would get soaked Id love it and not care
Why the hell did they stay outside it’s dangerous GO INSIDE
Those doors do not open. The entrance is around on the north side, which was the way the tornado went. The worst damage was further down West Temple Street where a couple of bars were destroyed. No one around the Temple was injured.
I’m just a weather man
No, that couple had a tall sturdy structure that protected them from the tornado. Angels has nothing to do with it.
Tall sturdy structure has nothing to do with it
how many mormons does it take to open a church door? I'd be pissed If I was the hairdresser.
A lot more than that, considering it's locked from the inside.
Cleo P
in 1962, a bomb was strapped to one of the doors, it did minimal damage to the interior, so a lot.
I would've gone straight into the Tabernacle.
that would have been worse cause the space inside the tabernacle is quite wide
Hide under the pews.
God protected them you could have went so wrong so fast to them
That would be me saying that was fun to live thru a deract hit from a tornado
lol at the screams
LOL if thats not a sign I dont know what is
And theres your sign
Everyone is saying how awesome this is... Couldn't possibly ever be a warning from God, we're just too good for that!
GAH DAMN SCREAMING!!!🙄🙄🙄🙄
Nossa deus n deixou nada de mal acontecer com essas pessoas pq estavam em sua casa
wow!!!

Sure ..... Mormonism is a cult.
Being built of heavy granite stones? Nah ...
Magic? Totally!
Thank you for some needed amusement on a slow and drab day.
lmfao. I needed to laugh today.
When they will get a baby then it will be named Alley 😅
Lol at the gee whiz and holy cows. Mormons, God love em lol.
You know your surrounded by Mormons when you hear nothing but gee whiz and holy cows
And "I hope this tornado is a sign of fertility" lol
Too bad they weren't actually in the temple; there wouldn't have been all that wild screaming then.
Yeah, but then there wouldn't be a camera. Unless it was a hidden one.
damn only 19 days and it will be 4/20/99 colimbine shooting
A tornado at a Mormon event makes perfect sense. Even a few lightning strikes. Maybe the tornado is the part where if anyone here has something to say part.
Thats crazy
Luv tornadoes but if one ever kills someone one I know I will hate them forever
This tornado killed 1 person. It injured more and destroyed a lot.
Where have you been? Don't you know?
Tornados have killed many people
You guys....he said someone I know
