I haven’t heard the other band’s songs yet, but Heilung has a few good songs, like Anoana and the sung bits in Lifa, but most of the songs are kinda boring and the melodies aren’t as pretty as the melodies of Skáld songs, so they aren’t close to the epicness of Skáld songs, Skáld songs have real pretty melodies that very few songs have - Skáld music is more comparable to Nightwish music and Varien music, as all three have that epicness and the cinematic quality and really pretty melodies that stand out, and they can be pretty intense like Óðinn and Ríðum Ríðum etc, and this singer that was the 1st singer from Skáld has a higher and more refined voice, similar to the voice of the 2nd Nightwish singer that sang the song Amaranth, which has a pretty timbre, and used a lot the Nordic style of singing / belting, so it’s more fun to listen to than the singer from Heilung!
