I love watching you cook, no faffing about to every last grain of salt, you know the best food is made by tasting. You. Really are my kind of cook, but it’s not all food with which I’m familiar, so I’m learning new things all the time. You’re pretty darn wonderful, when the heck do you shop? Straight from work to your apron drawer & dinner is ready, but seriously, do you order & have your shopping, delivered like I do? I’ve had pretty much the same group of delivery guys & girls, & over the years they have noticed that I’m less & less able to cope, so they won’t let me. They carry in & unpack all my totes in the kitchen, I try to give each of them personal little gifts over the holidays & they’re almost family, & I’m not too exhausted. I’m very lucky really. I really appreciate anyone who feeds me, my brother is wonderful, as is my Bestie. Thank you for sharing Shabbat with me, I love your soups.

One of my favorites of all the videos you've done. Your little girl asked at 6:35 "What's for dinner?" and you told her and she was fine. My children always seemed to complain when I told them what I was making so to that question I always answered, "Puppy tails" or "Frog legs" or "Mixed bugs with cheese" or something crazy. It made them laugh and I didn't get frustrated with the complaints. Your children are such good eaters, they know their mommy will always make delicious food.

I love the way you always say, "I just had this in my pantry, fridge, freezer, etc. and wanted to use it up." Sometimes some of the cooks are so complicate that people forget we can improvise and use what we have and not waste. Onions, garlic, and a good sauce can make everything taste better!

Dear Sonya, thank you for yet another video. I quite enjoy them 💖 regarding manti (we also call these manti in Turkish) my fathers region which is central Anatolia, we fill them in with crushes chickpeas, onions, garlic and lots of cumin, spicy pepper flakes, dried mint, black pepper. My grandmother usually aligned them on a tray and baked them in an oven with a generous amount of butter. After they browned a little, she added some soup stock with tomato paste and baked them a little more. We always ate them with lots of garlic yoghurt. Because they made a living out of selling livestock, their diet contained lots of vegetarian dishes. Sometimes my grandma filled Manti also with grated potatoes or lentils. The chickpea version tastes even better than the meat filling.

Just watched this video a few hours ago, and your Mujadara looked so good I decided to make it. I knew I had most of the ingredients, and after sending my son to the store for potatoes and rice I got to work in the kitchen. There was such a delicious aroma all around me! As you said, this isn't a fast and easy weeknight meal .. it is quite involved; however, it's great to make when you want to try something new and different from the same old meals you normally make. I'm nearing the end and can't wait to eat .. 40 minutes left to go!

I added beefsteak tomato slices on top of the potatoes and it added another layer of flavor that just took it to the next level .. and I found I have to make two pies because everyone needs more than one slice. I'm making it again tomorrow night for dinner. Can't wait to eat! 😋

Love watching you cook Sonya! I have Jewish heritage as my father was Jewish but he died early in my life and with him went his wonderful Jewish recipes! Your kiddos are such great little helpers!

Hi Sonya, thank you for sharing your traditions. I love watching.. I have a trick about the celery that I have been doing for years and it works.. when I get my celery home from the grocery I wrap it up all up in aluminum foil.. it stays crisp in the frig for a long time..
Your dishes all look amazing.. thank you
