  • Over the past two years, the City of Olathe, Kansas redesigned their Velocity Midship Pumper to be fire ground efficient, move water rapidly, and get water quickly. To really dial in on their pump discharge pressure, all gauges were plumbed directly 3” from the discharge. Due to the department’s aggressive firefighting style, they returned to using tread plate in the cab for durability, lowered the crosslays 6” lower than standard, and lowered the hosebed 40” off of the tailbed.
