A review of the Canon Prima Zoom Shot Date. Tested on the 9th May 2021. Film used - Kodak ColorPlus - 24 EXP - 200 ISO Sold to private buyer in September 2021
I dug this out of my mother's storage. We had the same camera, which took so much of my best moments as a child. I'm shocked to see it still works! I'm 27 now and I've been telling my young nieces the magic of film. My mom told me "now you don't need to buy a new camera after all"
Hey I love your video by the way. I have this camera, my aunt give them to my mom when I was little. Film cameras are soo beautiful, we can't get the same type of photos on digital camera. Also, how do you scan the film into digital picture?
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, if you find the right film camera for you, it is hard to give it up. No comparison between digital and analogue photos. When you send your film away to the lab, you can just ask them to scan the images from the negative and place them on a memory card or a usb. 😀
Hi. I found this camera in my parents home, without any use for 18 years and a film inside. I checked it with a new battery. Any recommendations? Gonna travel to nyc soon. Seems exciting. Xo
Thanks for watching and commenting. No specific recommendations but if you haven’t already removed the film, I would either rewind the film and remove it or finish the role buy taking some shots. That way you will know if the camera is operating okay. Have a great time in NYC and if you end up making a video of your pics, please let me know. I was in NYC just before the Pandemic and used a camera I found in Salt Lake City to take some pics. Link is below if you are interested. ruclips.net/video/GAk6EnM2SBM/видео.html I also shot a short video on my Hi8 camera and edited it when Ingot home. Enjoy. ruclips.net/video/6lZPeNA67OI/видео.html
Hello! When I turn the camera off, the number of photos on the counter decreases and goes to 0 (even though I had not pressed rewind). Is this normal? What should I do? Can I continue taking photos?
@@ReelFilm2016 I just bought this cam yesterday and depending on the circumstances, I may or may not want the date on my photos. Is there a way to turn that feature off?
Yes, just press the button on the back until the display disappears. From memory, i think the display will be totally blank or will look like this - - - - -
@@ReelFilm2016 Oh wait, I just realized mine is different than yours lol. On the back of my camera it has the dial like yours but it doesnt have the LCD screen or buttons that yours does 😅 Thanks for replying tho!
I've just come across my Canon sure shot 60 s/AF purchased in the UK but it doesn't have the date stamp on it. I might get a film for it and give it a blast.
Hey, thanks for watching and commenting. Glad it was of use to you. It’s a great little camera. You can turn the flash off by rotating the dial on the back. There is a picture of a flash with a line through it. Please consider subscribing if you enjoy this type of content.
Hey! Thanks for the video about this camera, I just ordered the very same one online and was wondering if it's possible to shoot double exposures with it?
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I don’t think you can as the camera automatically winds on after each shot. You can do double exposures on certain Instax cameras but they are mini Polaroids! I have the instal mini 90 and that model allows you to do double exposures. Let me know how you get on with the camera.
Hey, thanks for watching and commenting. I haven’t used the other model you mention. I did a quick google search on it and it seems that it might be the AF-9s (at least that’s what google is showing me 😀) However, I do have a review on my channel of the AF-7s. However, the Prima Zoom, was very pleasant to use and produced very vibrant images. Hope that helps.
Hello, thanks for your comment. Well, I have never used the bf-90 so I can’t really give you my opinion. I really liked the camera I reviewed and thought the added date stamp option was really cool. Whatever happens, they are both good cameras for beginners and you will always make the right decision.
can i know if i use any film with an iso of 50, 100 or 200, do i need to use a flash in the inside of mall ? or can i know did use flash for the picture in the mall that you have taken in the video ?
Hello, to be perfectly honest, I can't remember if the flash was used because the camera was in automatic mode. I was using a 200 ISO film, which is a good film to use both outside and indoors with good lighting. My advice is to read up on your ISO's before buying your film and go and have a go yourself. I have a feeling that the flash would have fired, but I can't be 100% certain. Just remember, the more light you have, the lower the ISO should be. The higher the ISO, the better suited it is to low light situations.
Thanks for watching and commenting. That’s crazy. I sold this camera not long after making the video and think I made around £30. I was very pleased. Be patient and one will come your way. 😀😀👍🏻👍🏻
I was making reference to date, specifically the year. When I shot with the camera, I was able to set it to 2021, but the camera only allows you to go as far as 2025, no further. 🙂
@@mutatedcells8770 Well you can use any 35mm film in the camera. I really like Kodak ColorPlus. I think that is the film I used in the camera. I also really like Ilford XP2.
Nope. If you are using that camera outside with a film with an iso of 50, 100 or even 200, you don’t need a flash. Unless of course, you are using it for a purpose or experimenting.
When you send your film for processing and scanning at the lab, ask them to either email you the pictures they have scanned or provide them with a usb stick so they can put them on that for you.
Hello, I think there was but I have sold the camera since the review. My advice to you is to google the model number and look for the manual online. That should tell you what you need to know. Hope that helps
Hello, thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the flash. Well your battery might need replacing. That’s a common problem. Indicator May show it’s full when in actual fact it is drained. It could also be a proximity issue. You might be too close to the object you are shooting which In turn might affect the flash from firing. Let me know how you get on.
@@marchenrydoctolero9008 Hey. Sorry to hear that you are still having your problem. I don’t know what else to suggest. It might just be easier to source another on eBay as they are generally quite cheap.

What film did you use for this? Portra 400? Please and thanks

The camera does it. Clever stuff isn’t it. You just have to ensure you have a camera which has a date / time stamp option
