Still one of the best dramas, with one of the worst last conflict of all time.
When u want the audience to actually understand and relate to the conflict u put between the main characters, u should take this drama's last big conflict as an example...how to NOT do it.
It was forced, made absolutely no sense and just made the female lead and her family look like bad and immature people.
I don't want to spoiler it, but i think everyone who watched it, knows what i am talking about.
The conflict was necessary for the male lead, but in my opinion it was such a waste and ruined the female lead for me and could have been done so much better.
The drama was actually in my top 3 favorite dramas until that last conflict and is one of the few dramas i liked, but never watched again.
If u want to know why this last conflict is so bad, u should check out "I am Not a Robot", because this drama is not just one of the best dramas of all time, if not the best, but it also has one of the best last conflicts of all time.
I don't want to spoiler it, because it's a 10/10 drama and everyone should watch it, but let's just say that it doesn't do any of the mistakes that this drama did and just did a fantastic job in making the audience torn between the two main characters.
Because u actually can understand both sides and it was beautifully crafted to have a real impact on the audience.
"Clean with Passion for Now" is a drama that i hope other shows take notes from how to NOT handle a conflict, because i really don't need another drama that tries to force a conflict and ends up ruining a show for me.
"Kim Yoo-jung" is my 3rd favorite actress after "Han So-Hee" and "Shin Hye-sun" and this show managed to make me dislike her character THAT late in the show.
And that is really impressive...and not in a good way at all.
Anyway the drama is a solid 7/10 for me, but with out this complete mess of a conflict, it could have been a 10/10.
The ending was really sweet and heartwarming, which is the only reason it's not a 5/10.
I do recommend this drama, but prepare to maybe facepalm a lot in the last few episodes.
For everyone who wants to know, i will spoiler now, so stop reading when u still want to watch it.
SPOILER!
So the female lead finds out that the grandfather of the male lead is the person who is responsible for the death of her mother.
After all that is a powerful twist, but the show waste it and instead does something that ruins the female lead for me.
Cause after that she breaks up with him and tells him she doesn't want to see him ever again, with out telling him why.
The most stupid thing about that is, that he doesn't even know that his grandfather is responsible for her mothers death and he is not even close to his grandfather and actually has a very toxic relationship to him.
So she basically blames him for something he didn't do, didn't even know about and basically ruins his life and health with her decision.
And her family does the same and this is not even the worst.
Short after, the male lead is suffering a lot, because the female lead was basically his cure and her suddenly breaking up with him, lead him to get back to his old behaviour...but much worse.
Long story short, he gets into a car accident and nearly dies, which made the female lead to stay by his side until he wakes up and then she leaves him again.
So to make clear what is so fvcked up about this. She basically sees what she caused by blaming him for something that wasn't even his fault AT ALL and even after seeing him nearly dying, she still refuses to be with him.
All because of her family and her own decision to blame someone for the things his family did.
This is just a terrible way to create a conflict, because a good conflict should ALWAYS make the audience be torn and make the audience think about what side they are on, but how am i supposed to be on the female leads side, when she is simply a bad person here?
It actually breaks my heart, because the drama is really good until this point and i wish they would have used this conflict in a better way, instead of forcefully make them break up, just for him to go to therapy to get healed and them finally reuniting at the very end.
I don't want to make the drama sound worse than it actually is, but in my opinion they wasted a lot of potential and nearly ruined the female lead and her family for me.
After all the drama managed to make me like her and her family again in the end, but even when it's clear who is right in a conflict, u should ALWAYS try to make the audience AT LEAST understand why the other person does what she/he does and not what they did here.
It didn't even made sense for her to think like that and her family just seemed like complete A**holes in the last episodes.
After all they should have tried to make this conflict about them and the male leads grandfather and how he manages to be fully healed with the help of the female lead, since his grandfather is the reason for him to be like that.
They literally had the same enemy, but the female lead thought it's a great idea to hurt the person she loves, without any logical reason.
The female lead going against the male lead just made no sense and it felt like they just completely throw away everything they build on.
Well this was long, but this still makes me angry until this day and i still don't get it.
Really sad how they wasted a possible masterpiece of a drama.

The chinese show must be a remake of the korean show, even some scenes are the same.
