art and olfaction awards is basically all niche fragrances. From the AOA winners I've smelled, they've all been really cool, so I'm definitely a believer
I love the way Aaron gives us his honest opinion, as a qualified professional! You may not agree with him, but he's a great sounding board to base your purchasing decisions on! Based on a lot of his fragrances I've bought, he knows what he's talking about! His are the first niche fragrances I smelled, and I became a mass of goosebumps on the first sniff! Very few designer fragrances come close! Aaron rocks!
Your honestly is so refreshing in a sea of paid opinions. Also, thanks to you I finally understand what is that "urinal cake" smell I get from so many vanillic fragrances (namely Carlisle) whereas everyone seems to swoon for them. Thank you, Aaron!
Aaron, just so you know, you have the 2023 version of Acqua Di Gio Parfum. The 2024 version is different. The bottle sizes are now 50ml and 100ml, the caps are magnetic, the logo is toward the bottom of the front of the bottle, and the smell is closer to Acqua Di Gio Profumo. If you do a review, I would recommend getting a new bottle.
Oh, boy! I just love what you did here, Aaron! This is really my cup of tea, that's why I love what you do! Unfortunately, I couldn't smell any of your fragrances, but I'll make sure I do that within the next year, this is one of my goals for the near future. Once I'll do that, I'll let you know. I bow to you, you are one of the most intricate perfumers I watch on RUclips, totally original and from what I gather, one definitely fantastico guy! 🥰
Honestly blows my mind that the men’s prestige fragrance of the year is MYSLF. I wonder if they just chose that based on sales. I thought it was headache inducing. Smells alright but to be first place is a whole other thing
Loving the brutal honesty as usual. Suggestions for future reviews: Vertus Vanilla Oud, Vertus Sole Patchouli, Xerjoff Starlight, The Merchant of Venice Vinegia 21, The Harmonist Yin Transformation Parfum.
Aaron: your reviews are awesome. Thank you for your honest opinions and technical knowledge of the materials. I look forward to watching these. Have a beautiful day! 🌹
Thank you Aaron, finding your channel has been a blessing for me. You make it so enjoyable and exciting to learn the pure art and purpose of perfumery, exploring fragrances that would suit me for different occasion. These kind of awards to big names are typical in many aspects of our life, where money, connection, and media controls everything, pushing garbage into the consumer. Food industry is exactly the same, but in a much more horrific scale and impact to us. Anyway, love you and thank you Aaron, please keep doing what you are doing. Cheers from Singapore
100% related to your Boots' customer service experience. Everytime I've been in a Boots and asked for help finding something it feels like I'm being a nuisance, the slightly annoyed bored look they give me that screams they'd rather be doing literally anything else. Superdrug though have always been useful, must be something to do with the working environment I suppose...
OMG this video was brilliant from start to finish. Thank you so much for this. I personally love Tobacco Honey but, as usual, I admire that you can appreciate the artistry of a perfume and talent of a perfumer even if you don't like the scent itself. You might be interested to know that is not actually a honey accord. Guerlain managed to develop a method to "distil" honey. I write in quotation marks because that's probably not the right terminology. Thierry Wasser explained it an interview he did with The Perfume Guy (I would link the video, but I don't want to risk having the comment deleted. The exact minute where they talk about this process is 13:43)
Once again my friend, thank you for your extreme honesty. I enjoy your reviews and opinions. You're definitely helping me expand my total fragrance acumen. Thank you Aaron.
"Smells so same-y." I pretty much plug my nose when I walk through department stores and Sephora/Ulta. Everything smells the same and gives me a headache, with rare exception.
This video is the reason I love your content so much, enjoyed this from start to finish, one of your best vids, appreciate the honesty, was really entertaining to watch
i admire you have the balls to do a review like this, I completely agree to what you say and your expertise is a true delight .... you are the best out there, keep up the good work and time you invest....thank you
Love your approach and honesty Aaron. We all need to take a leaf out of your book and call things how we see it. So enjoyable to watch too. Don’t ever change please 😊
Thanks for all the effort and knowledge that goes into these videos Aaron, love your content. You should do a review of Oud Maracuja by Maison Crivelli, would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it
Fantastic review as always, really appreciate your honesty. Aaron could you please do some reviews on Houbigant men’s fragrances , I think they are all beautiful, but not many people review them . Fougere royale by Houbigant has by far been my most complimented fragrance and I have quite a few fragrances.
@@dctrbanner3964 I picked up Tobacco Honey in the duty free at CDG in Paris. It’s an absolute beast. I honestly wish it wasn’t so strong. 1 full spray is too much imo. So, if you like loud, sweet, tobacco scents, then you’ll love Tobacco Honey.
I totally agree! I was going through some samples the other day, while watching videos and playing some WoW. Somewhere between sample 4 and 5, I was completely lost! I couldn't distinguish the scents anymore... everything commercial and designer smells the same, it's so dull. I couldn't tell if I was smelling Givenchy Society extreme, Scandal Absolu, or whatever... It all blends together!
I truly enjoy your videos and look forward to hearing your opinion on perfumes. Thank you for being honest about your judgement of these perfumes because I feel many of these perfumes from the big designer houses to be meh. I want to experience more niche fragrances because I find that I like them best. Unique and engaging scents are usually from niche houses and smaller brands.
Aaron, I'd love to hear your take on a newish "house" called Lune. They mainly do dupes, but have some originals and they aren't terrible for the price!
Thanks for your insights Aaron. Sounds like the Aviation awards Skytrax where airlines can buy 5 star ratings. On a separate note could you please review Fleur du Desert by Louis Vuitton if convenient? Thanks for all you do!
Jacques Cavallier won a lifetime achievement award this year. That's pretty cool! He's my favorite perfumer so far, but I love the Louis Vuitton fragrances, so I'm probably in the minority there. I still haven't tried any ATH fragrances yet.
Don't worry about Fragrance Foundation, Aaron. People who have smelled your work know they are masterpieces. Speaking of, will Raw Cherry ever come back? I never managed to get a full bottle of it. 😢
I'd love to see you explore some of the winners from the Art and Olfaction Awards. They acknowledge a lot of smaller houses and I think you'd be much more impressed. Plus, talking about those smaller houses with your audience would give them exposure. Small businesses helping one another is a beautiful thing.
So brutally honest, and perfectly balanced with some withering sarcasm!!!! "Who's deciding this?..... at the Fragrance Foundation Awards....which apparently had a DJ......Wild!" Lmao. Quote of the year along with "so you undo this by destroying her breasts.....apparently". This is why we love you, Aaron. You are spot on with everything reviewed here. I would truly love it if you were to collaborate on a fragrance with George Zaharoff. I think the result would be epic!
Aaron since you do make your own fragrance, how hard is it to make a good smelling simple fragrance with an attacking projection and last on the skin? i know it's not that simple lol
I would love to buy some of your fragrances in the USA, but no can’t do. I know and understand the situation. How is the project to supply the USA market coming along?? I know there are a lot of roadblocks along the way! What’s your best guess at this point??
Would be very interested to see this list revised with the fragrances you think actually belong on there. These picks are definitely aimed at mass appealing safe fragrances that's for sure.
13:37 - are you sure Hermes is owned by Shiseido? From what I checked and from what I heard, they are on their own without any company above, but I believe my sources are not that certain as someone's who is inside the industry. So just asking to satisfy my curiosity 😁
"vanilla piss". 😆
A hot new Berlin club night...
If I found that on a shelf, I'm not entirely sure that I wouldn't buy it 😂

The Palme d'Or of fragrances

Very good idea 👍
I like this a lot! Just like what MKHD does for smartphones
Them Judges got paid under the table!!! Big time!
Just like in every industry
Nobody gives a shit about these awards
Thank goodness we got this guy, a genuine reviewer
The Foundation should absolutely have categories for niche houses.

Thank the Lord for you Aaron. Such honesty. I always trust your judgment even though our tastes are not that similar. But you’re always spot on.
In spite of having your own brand you manage to be honest and forth coming. I appreciate the content!
Yes! Aaron is on fire, no holding back. Love it.

That's exactly how it works. Guerlain honey extraordinaire the most niche on the list.
It’s how everything works in life. You pay to play. Hospitality, politics, etc. it’s life. Yeah it sucks.
Standard enough in most areas
