    Superb performance, not sure if the audience realizes how difficult are these pieces. Also not sure if this was a good repertoire selection for a general audience. Definitely great pieces for guitar festival though.

      True, great piece for an audience that is familiarized with contemporary music, maybe a Giuliani or Sor would have fitted really well.

    No doubt Gian has great technique at the guitar, but for me my soul was not moved. But I'm old. . . LOL

      renatoyutub Very true! You'll find what you're looking for if you're seeking it in the music world.

    Can we not instead say, "This is why Classical music is beautiful" instead of "This is why it isn't boring?" When we show the world why it isn't boring we end up getting pieces like the last one he played. Heh..

    wow he even plays Recuerdos de la Alhambra

    • @wonghow
      @wonghow 5 лет назад

      Although Recuerdos de la Alhambra is very nice composition. There are several other beautiful and much more complex tremolo compositions such as Un Sueno En La Floresta

    I wonder how many people in the audience went out and bought a guitar after this. I also wonder how many of them that bought a guitar still practice? How many will go on to become something of a guitarist?

    It's not for old people. It's just boring. Great performance, though.

    who's non-realistic idea that classical music is for old people? All the classical genius start from young age. Mozart can compose at age 5. Virtuosos start at young age. All these people love classical music

    Nobody ever said that so this is pointless.

  • @daveroberts2378

    I enjoyed the playing, but in the lecture he never tells us who is saying classical music is only for old people. It's probably some punk who's never heard classical. It's too bad the guitar volume is mixed so much softer than his voice.

      How many cellists can do this?
      It's almost the same comparison, since classical and electric guitar are 2 completely different instruments.

    • @sopsilist2030
      @sopsilist2030 5 лет назад

      Davide Orofino yes but lots of metal players are fans of classical music and or learned classical as a young age

      Rock and metal are a different style of playing guitar grandpa ...respect all styles if u wanna be a musician

      I play both classical and metal ...both are different techniques.....I enjoy both ....common people don’t prefer complex music ...complex music is made in both classical and metal and in both genres they are ignored

      From a fellow Lamb Of God fan.... you're a twat if you think this is boring. Mark and Willie are some of my favorite guitarists, but put together they would still have trouble equating to the skill of this man.

      Yeah, i really enjoy some classical music (Canon in D is actually one of my favorite melodies), and i also enjoy some slow music (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and all the classical country legends). I just think that classical music will never get on mainstream again mainly because people dont listen to music itself nowadays. They listen it on the gym, on parties, and doing a million things at the same time. Classical (and probably all the old times music requires attention, share a beautiful message, and it's much more than a catchy chorus that nowadays pop music has become. I rather listen to Hank paying attention on every word and getting what he felt when he wrote it. And i also have to admit that i never watched this video to the end, just tried to make a funny (and kinda stupid) comment.

      Pop music is the epitemy of boring music. The music fundementally feels the same from start to finish. Tension and release is every other second as opposed to something built up over time to one final release.

    • @DreamlessSleepwalker
      @DreamlessSleepwalker 5 лет назад

      @@GuiLogNow Country music is "three chords and the truth." The problem is it is three chords. There is no need for the music itself, all you actually need is the lyrics and you have country. Canon in D is a hated song among classical musicians for being mediocre yet constantly played all of the time.

    Great playing but telling people why they should like classical music is cringe worthy, let people listen and decide for themselves
    The last piece is truly the worst shite I've ever heard
