    Must feel great, driving a car YOU rebuilt, YOU have intimate knowledge of. 👍

    With it being a top side oil filter. Press and hold the gas pedal while you turn the key, it'll prime the engine with oil without starting the car and you can get a more accurate level reading.

    Glar you put in some upgrades to make use of that displacement

    05:15 The standard release has a good thermal shield. It doesn't have any thermal shield at all - the engine can quickly overheat in aggressive driving mode.

    I've spent hundreds of dollars and tens of hours sound deadening my car, and here you are making yours louder. Lol. Can confirm: 80mph during the trip we just took and the cabin was unnaturally quiet. But then....stock exhaust...🍻

      Haha I've been thinking about your videos for the last few weeks now. Need to figure out highest impact things to try and help the NVH situation on this car. I love how it sounds in ways but my SO, not so much haha

      @@ReadySetProjects I imagine you will still HEAR it, but less so. I guess the solution is...just roll your windows down. 😎

    Hey there, nearly a year later how are things going? Have you gotten the CELs to go away with tuning? I have a '14 crosstrek I've been fixing up and am considering swapping out the short block to a 2.5 and rebuilding but I'll want to make sure I can still pass emissions when all is said and done.

    Have you had any issues with your front CV shafts after your lift? I’ve gone through about 4 in five years.

    Would this swap be possible with a CVT? I need to put a new engine in my 2015 cvt, This has me thinking i could turn the project into an upgrade.

    Nice project, well done! Was that 2.5 a direct swap for the 2.0? I imagine some minor things were involved.. but did the tranny and mounts and everything else line up? What would the exhaust setup run, all together? Not you.. you prob got some ad discount.. but for us normal ppl.. what would that exhaust run us in total?

    • @ReadySetProjects
      @ReadySetProjects  Год назад +1

      Bsically everything was a direct swap from FB20 to FB25. Can't say for FD motors or others, obviously. But the main two things were figuring out the exhaust VVT (every FB25 I've seen doesn't have them) and then the clutch is specific to your transmission (5spd vs. 6spd changes the distance to the fingers) but everything thing else matches, exhaust ports, engine mounts, bell housing, etc.
      Exhaust prices I paid match the site. But the header was discounted because it was used. Never mentioned my channel or anything, so no special treatment.

      @@ReadySetProjects one more: did u have to swap the ecm? Thanks for answering my questions, again, great job and video

    • @ReadySetProjects
      @ReadySetProjects  Год назад +1

      Thanks! And swapping the ecm is very difficult because I've heard it's all locked to the VIN#. So if you replace anything it'll refuse to work. Also pinouts may look the same but I've read of people blowing up stuff by plugging in different ECMs though they use the same plugs. So easiest way is to just get someone to tune the stock ecm (which is what i did) and i think they could disable the exhaust vvt stuff if you decided to ditch it.

    Are you getting a new tune after the headers?

  • @lukas1255
    @lukas1255 Год назад

    Question, I have a 2013 Subaru Legacy 2.5i , do you know if those headers you got would be direct bolt on for me? Also, can you provide a link to which you purchased in the video?

    • @ReadySetProjects
      @ReadySetProjects  Год назад +1

      Link to Mike's site is in the description! And you might have an older 2.5L motor in that legacy. (Maybe the EJ?) But if the engine block casting has FB20 or FB25 like I showed in the video then these headers should work! But Mike is good about knowing what would and wouldn't work for you. Take a gander at his site and see.

      @@ReadySetProjects Thanks so much! I do have a FB25 motor, same as yours as pictured in your video! I did a mid pipe, axel back conversion using an STI mid pipe, extended and then bolted on Nameless 5" mufflers, same fit to the 3.6R configuration.

    What is the point ?? What is the point of a custom exhaust on a low-horsepower commuter vehicle like the Crosstrek ?? Its lucky to produce 150hp. 0-60 in under 12secs. Lol

    It's not you, with the clutch skills, it's the stupid fly-by-wire laggy, inconsistent throttle

    Don't sleep on the camshaft position sensor mine started going out in my 13 Crosstrek and I'm about to replace the engine because it blew up on the highway if I were you I'd replace all 4

    • @ReadySetProjects
      @ReadySetProjects  Год назад

      Dang that's wild. The sensors caused the cam timing to go wonky and blew up the motor? We did verify all 4 sensors work just fine. I'll double check the wiring though
