    I am making a flat-projection version, although I do not want it to simply be me rerendering this in Mollweide (the projection used in the other videos). The video will make tweaks to the coastlines. That version will run forwards in time and will not be labeled as these two videos are to be used in conjunction with one another.

      do it from 4.27 billion years ago stop from the present day and start again till 4-5 billion years in the future

      @Fractal Mapping that is an impossible task. Predicting anything past 200-300 million years is not possible and if left alone, plate tectonics will stop altogether in 1 billions years.

    Ever since you released the first video. It opened up to me so much about the planet, nature and everything surrounding it. It's videos like this that have inspired me to come so far in my learning and within only a few years I have learned so much about Geography and History.     Kind of interesting how the formation of Rodinia changes each time. Do sources disagree wildly on this or something?

      Sources disagree on the placement of some of the blocks in Rodinia, particularly Siberia and the China blocks. Most, however, agree that Laurentia was the core of the continent and that the other landmasses were around it.

      The farther back in time the more difficult it is to accrerately reconstruct plate tectonics of that era so some disagreement normal

    Something about Earth's supercontinents feels very refreshing. Like when I think about what It would be like living on Pangea or Gandwana, I think about early in the morning when you are watching the sunrise. I don't understand why I get that feeling, but it is very welcome.

    This was clearly a great deal of work, so most importantly - thank you. Now for a truly unreasonable suggestion (I'm sure) - it would be great to see this on an interactive spinning globe with latitude and longitude. The flat-projection from 2020 is particularly well done. Super excellent work. Again thank you.

    Thanks for this. Took a little while to get to grips with the interactive element, by pausing the video and moving the viewing position the full tectonic movements can be observed in detail.

    Very confusing but also very interesting LOL. I feel like watching motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses hitting each other. But instead of stop moving after collision, they keep moving LOL which is very diffent with traffic accidents. Oh and beautiful music btw

    Perth (Yilgarn) is the first land on Earth that appears.
    Western Australia & North of South Africa (Pilbara & Pretoria/Kaapvaal) are the first 2 lands on Earth that appears over water.
    So the oldest country in the world seem to be both South Africa & Australia.
    And at 3:25 is where my country and few others started.

      Specifically to make the 360 thing, RUclips has a metadata tool that lets you inject the required metadata to a video file to say that it's a VR video. Some video editing programs have the option built-in during rendering as well.
      Specifically to make this animation, GPlates.

    1:35 Britain and Ireland split clean in half. The Iapetus Ocean opening and the Aegir sea emerges.
    (Remember..time is running backwards in this animation..in reality the northern and southern parts of Britain and Ireland collided about 400 million years ago.
    The collision event can still be seen in the Iapetus Sutre on the Isle of Man.)

    For a moment I was so confused, I thought this was a really inaccurate modeling of the future, so I was so confused as to why India was drifting away from Asia, but then I scrolled to the description and realized it was playing from the present time to the past, so it made a lot more sense lol
