Ihsahn and The Haunted played the Shibuya-O venue last night with Leprous as support. Leprous are Ihsans backing band, but also are an independant band in their own right.
I didn't know much about the Haunted, except that a few of the members are ex At The Gates members. Their set was good and well performed, with solid performances from all members. They played about 1 hour and 20 minutes in total, and I managed to record everything except the encore of one extra song - my battery didn't make it that long. The sound was pretty good as well, as the video shows.
I normally rip my videos at 1080p, but the length of these videos meant that 720p was almost 2 GB. So it was a choice of a good quality 720p or a grainy 1080p.
720p it is.
What a blessing it was to have The Haunted with Dolving as a frontman. Metal purists always hated on the stoner-ish, punchy sound he brought to the band but it made them stand out so much. Great hooks, smart and eloquent writer with a vocal range that went from death metal growls to lullaby singing along with 50% of At The Gates. Once in a lifetime deal we got.
Dolving is absolut the best metal singer from sweden...
Masterpiece
In 300 years it's cult
Thx peter dolving and the band.
The haunted it's Peter Dolving for sûre
Respect and thx from France
ill never forget this chapter of the haunted. it was fresh, catchy and punchy. yeah it wasnt revolver but this band took on a sound that mad main stream american metal run for their money. its a shame century media didnt invest much in these guys after the dead eye.
that is my thoughts exactly
Jose Quintero the Dead Eye was their IMO their best effort... rEVOLVEr was descent as well... once peter left the haunted went doo doo.
@@MrTomkat030 The Dead Eye, Versus and rEVOLVEr were all great albums. Peter Dolving was a great vocalist for the band. It was clear that he was losing interest in the band when they release Unseen though.
Now they just sound very generic, which is a shame. The Dead Eye is so great because of how dynamic and weird it was, rEVOLVEr was great because of the incredible atmosphere of the darker songs and the catchiness of the more straight-forward songs, Versus is just full of energy and humor (gasp!) and it felt more like a Mary Beats Jane album than a Haunted album.
Their new stuff has, erm, catchy riffs I guess.
Gerald Weir the Dead Eye was their best IMO
still in my everyday rotation

Watching this live set i realized what a great drummer Per Moller is.
Seriously guys, pay attention on D.O.A.
This has probably been the best The Haunted moment by far.
Exit Wounds is a great album but I miss some progressive stuff they have added to their sound.
By the way Unseen and Versus are amazing in my opinion.
check out per's album with konkhra 'come down cold"
Amazing show, Peter Dolving is one of the best metal singer, i have been on the HAUNTED show many times and my best memories are with Peter singing
Dolving was a fresh wind for the band. The old/new singer is just one screamer of thousands. That's why they're not playing songs from revolver or the flood.
Awesome Peter Dolving with The Haunted! Real singer and great frontman. Amazing show. Thanks for upload.
Thanks for uploading this! I'm a big fan of Dolving's work. The guy is definitely the real deal.
Agreed! I hate the way they sound today (2018)
I know I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to stream new series online ?
@Richard Caspian I would suggest Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
On the last months Peter looked pretty much like a Guru XD Too bad that he stopped making Heavy Music, such a talented Singer
I love how Dolving is feeling it. Also how he screwed timing at the skull refrain. As an hobby musician, i can somehow relate to why it happened, it's just so authentic. Also best the Haunted lineup as for my taste, really miss them.
the last album is one of the best album ever made
I was looking for a dead eye era full concert of the Haunted, and you did not disappoint. Thank you. I fuckin love this shit. One of my all time favorite albums.
Thank you very much for this video. The quality is really good!
The Haunted is one of my favorite bands, but I really don't like their latest album, Unseen. Above all, there's one song I really can't stand on that album (the rest ranges from "meh" to "decent"), it's the first song of this concert, "The Skull".
If anyone needs it, here is the setlist for the concert :
01 - @00:00 - The Skull [Unseen]
02 - @03:50 - 99 [rEVOLVEr]
03 - @07:50 - The Premonition [The Dead Eye] (Intro)
Man this is a diamond on you tube many thanks for upload this! For me the best line up and period of haunted. Peter amazing performer what can i say about him i wish only to come back in metal music
Thank you for this upload! The Haunted is one of my favorite bands. The Dead Eye and Unseen are masterpieces. I wish I was able to see them on this tour before they broke up.
All good :) Glad you got a chance to share this show with me. I upload bands now and then for those who were unable to attend - lot of great bands out there, and not always playing in your town :) Have a great weekend.
@neyslema Hey, no problem...glad everyone is enjoying the video.
IMO, Dolving is a upgrade version of Phil Alsemo!
in vein will be my favourite song for ever
Thank you so much for the upload. I seen this guys in Northern Ireland supporting Trivium. Been a HUGE fan ever since!
99 is the heaviest fucking song ever
+abysmalasabysmal and as you probably know the next track is "Abysmal" on Revolver which itself is pretty damn dark and heavy itself... one of my favorite metal records.
Thanks for uploading this. My fav band and i have never see them live. Now peter has gone. But we have this, so many thanks. Cheers from argentina 🤘🏻
THANK GOD FOR UPLOADING THIS(urgod)
YES YES YES YES YES thank you!
Thanx for the upload...the haunted rulezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
really nice , good job! the haunted managed for a few songs to continue at the gates, which is rare and godlike for these days ^^
7:22 ❤️
The drummer didn't play the fills on "Trespass", maybe because of the slimmed-down drumkit?
genial
Pete still F'N RAWKZ!
33.28 in is beautiful
Much prefer the original, and current band.
is this peter or marco?
大脇一敏 Peter man.
the delay on the mic is super annoying
@denzke It was pretty loud... and this was the second band.. I think he is trying to pop his ears. Thats the goofball that stood in front of my line of sight the whole show...only tall asian in the whole building... jackass. Cool concert tho.
Unseen ruined The Haunted
Musically i love the album but it did mark the end of their golden era
honestly awesome, but although I am a huge fan of Peter Dolving I do believe Marco Aro has kept his singing skills much better, in this live you can see how it is too much for peter
I respect your opinion but do you say that Marco Aro has more "singing skills" than Peter Dolving? Please ... Listen again to Peter Dolving's five albums with The Haunted before judging him for a show. I was there and it was incredible! Don't compare it to Marco Aro who is a powerful single chord screamer only.
@@ricardorobbiano452 6 years ago man, I was another person at the time lol. I didn't say that, my favourite albums are Dolving's, but he punished his voice too much too quickly. Dolving in his style ages worse than Aro in his' , that's all I said.
Clever RUclips name. I concur.
