Surprised nobody mentioned the hole at the right of the machine that causes coins to drop out of play (not even clear if they fall in to the winning bucket). It's clear at 8:15 By having the hole there, the coins can't push as hard. That's why there's a big pile and the device doesn't move much.
This was oddly satisfying to watch. Coins dropping, coins pushed, coins moving, coins falling. ....Ive never seen this sorta mechanism before though lol.

Coin pushers have holes on both sides which then fall into a collection bin below. This is how the coin pushers actually make money
