      Struggling with her forehand and erratic play, Coco has shown just how strong she really is. Her court coverage and adjustments are so so strong. I believe clay will be her best surface 😮...Aryna was just so emotional and looking super stressed throughout that I don't think she was able to enjoy this experience. Brava Coco and keep working hard.

    • @Markph7
      @Markph7 9 months ago +4

      I would say “ prevailed in a mighty struggle”. Ass kicking in tennis is 6-1, 6-2 or less games. Sabalenka is #1 in the world anf her gap above Gauff and the rest will only increase after this tournament bc she reached the final. This was like a 7 game NBA finals for Gauff. She barely beat Keys in semis, had many tough matches. What makes her a joy to watch is her fight and steady mood in the arena when others are under massive pressure

    I like how every single time coco wins it’s always a fluke or the other player did terrible. When she loses she’s the double fault queen and a choke. Her and aryna both played on the same court and she was simply better. She played better that’s what it means to win so why is everyone trying to write her off it’s weird

      Nobody is disputing this. But Coco won 119 points. 70 of these were unforced errors by Sabalenka.

    • @DK-vn7lr
      @DK-vn7lr 9 months ago +2

      @henrykaspar3634unforced errors because Coco's play was getting to her. You don't choke and play bad against a bad player. Sabby lost, and she looked like a poor sport in the process.

    • @AC-ss5oy
      @AC-ss5oy 8 months ago

      @henrykaspar3634 they are called unforced errors but that is actually whats being disputed by players and analysts. Coco won by baiting Aryna into many of those errors by getting the ball back in court, counterpunching, mixing spins and paces. Coco gets a lot of criticism for her forehand but one reason why people with extreme western grips are so lethal on clay is that the ball jumps up and out of your strike zone which baits you into unforced errors , especially if you are an offensive baseliner; go back and look at her match with Madison Keys; in the 3rd set, see how many balls Madison dumped into the net while she was on her backfoot trying to hit Coco's forehand shots.

    The game started 0 : 0. The condition was equal and the same both sides. Only the best player became the winner and that is Coco. Being a top player means understanding the situation quickly and deal with it the best ways. This is what Coco did during the game including related to the wind and the annoying and disturbing nonstop screaming coming from her opponent. Coco is a real person and true Champion have good manners and respect including towards her opponents.

    Love that she acknowledged the conditions, just like Aryna did. The difference is, Coco decided to accept the conditions and adjust. Aryna will eventually realize the need to control what you can , and to adjust to what you cannot control. Grass season is on, and in grass, the playfield environment influences the game even greater. The grass in the first matches, gets taken away, and in the finals, the curt is nowhere near to what it was during the regular matches. Grass is no greener on the next match. 😂

      Agree - Aryna believes she “shouldn’t” lose to Coco and acts like the only conceivable way she could lose is all because of her own failure. This is a superiority complex and I can’t help but feel she doesn’t like or respect Coco for “reasons”. It’s really weird in your losing speech to give basically ZERO credit to Coco. She basically told the crowd “I lost, she didn’t deserve the win.” And that’s so salty and bad sportsmanship.

      Aryna has really shown her true colors after this loss. To also say in a press conference that Coco was hitting shots off the frame that miraculously went in, and to give zero credit to Coco, says a lot. Aryna is a nasty piece of work!!

      Coco, job well done. You were so positive, determined and most of all believed in yourself, even when you made an unforced error. I love how you always thank God for giving you the ability to perform. I’m so proud of you and your family. I cried with joy when you won. Keep on believing in God and yourself and more great things will happen. Congratulations. ❤❤🎊🎉.

    Congratulations coco you made me happy today, i love the answer you give to the journalist about playing iGa or sabalenka if she's the number one player, she's the one to beat in a final.

    Sabalenka's disbelief was palpable. I wonder if she thinks she's that invincible 🤔

  • @appropriatelyinappropriate13

    This kid is so great for the game and sports in general. Kudos to her parents for a job exceptionally well done! As a former competitive player, I can tell you that 'tennis parents' were generally the worst. Kids turning pro as early as she did, usually paid a horrible price. Fortunately, all indications are that she will escape having to go through all of that garbage due the stellar job her parents, family, friends and team have done to keep her grounded. The next gen of tennis is in good hands all around.

    Isn't she just lovely? Congratulations Coco. You were breathtaking. Phenomenal Coco just shut up all her haters and doubters as she usually does. Losing two finals in a row in the span of weeks, she just freed up herself and played her game hitting 30 winners and 30 unforced errors to Sabalenka's 37 winners and 65 unforced errors. Coco was the more solid player and absorbed all of Sabalenka's explosive powerful shots. Sabalenka threw the kitchen sink at Coco literally. Coco is so powerful not in the explosive way that Sabalenka is, she is a transformer that just absorbs all your power and drains you of all your energy. I watched the match and was in awe of how Coco came back to win the second and third sets absorbing all of the bombs Aryna was throwing at her. She could have won in straight sets had she won the tiebreak which she was up 4-1 and later 5-3 but Sabalenka just hit bombs at Coco to win the last 4 points of the tiebreak. If you want to study a mentally tough, highly professional, and resilient athlete, then you study Coco. What a phenomenon of an athlete. She's the highest paid female athlete for a reason and you can bet she will double all that well deserved reward and earnings that will be coming her way after her phenomenal Roland Garros win against the world no.1 for the second time at a slam. Keep on shining queen Coco!

      Well said, great to read, your insight is so on point, thank you. Really do hope Coco has a great Wimbledon. She plays the game in the right spirit, no antics to distract opponents. Also no shrieking just calm and professional. From one so young

      @kemioluwaseyi2915 9 months ago +14

      Sabalenka should learn how to be gracious in defeat after all nice accolades Coco gives her. Unfair for her to say this is her worst final ? What is she implying ? Coco is the winner today period.

    • @appropriatelyinappropriate13
      @appropriatelyinappropriate13 9 months ago +6

      She's a much needed gem for the game. Having spent a bunch of my youth as a competitive tennis player, I was blown away by how locked in she was throughout. Her eyes told the story. She was as close to unshakeable today as I've seen a player in a tight final like that. Bodes well for her future and the next 15 years of women's tennis if she can stay healthy and wants to keep playing.

      @cdallas1only 9 months ago +3

      @kemioluwaseyi2915In this instance, the phrase 'two things can be true at once' works perfectly. I think Coco played outstanding against Aryna and it was Aryna's worse final. It was!
      With that said, the reason Sabalanka loses Against Coco is that Coco's style of play agitates Sabalanka's style. Hence her two major loses to Coco. She'd actually favor playing Iga in the final, over Coco.

      sabalenka looks like a twin sister to amely mauresmo who lost to serena several times

  • @ZisengweChimutsa
    @ZisengweChimutsa 9 months ago +125

    Sabalenka is not an emotionally strong competitor. She doesn’t take a defeat as a normal outcome out of a game. She wrongly assumed that she lost due to bad play. In my opinion that was a negative thought as well as a disparaging remark by someone who is ranked No.1. She was beaten squarely and smartly by a better opponent. Coco had done her homework quite well.

    • @adolfocamblor9295
      @adolfocamblor9295 9 months ago +2

      Serena would almost always blame her losses on her own bad play and not credit her opponents graciously. So even the phenoms are have had these ugly moments.

    • @henrykaspar3634
      @henrykaspar3634 9 months ago

      Oh boy. You don’t want to claim I’m serious that Sabalenka played anywhere near her level. Btw, neither did Gauff.

      @adolfocamblor9295 cool but she retired years ago. And I remember her giving credit to opponents and I also remember when she didn’t give credit to opponents. But no one’s talking about her right now but you.

      @willawentertainment 9 months ago +6

      @adolfocamblor9295Serena is the greatest of all time. When she said she lost because of things she did it was true. Sabalenka isn’t on Serena’s level. She’s 27 with 3 grand slam titles. Serena had five by 20.

    I'm glad a reporter brought up what Sabakenka said about Iga would have won today. (I'm a huge Iga fan). Her response was perfect. Was a very dumb thing to say, but that is who she (Sabalenka) is. Coco is a humble champ.

    Surprised the roof was not closed. But conditions were the same for both , and Gauff stayed calm and focused. Sabalenka just imploded and ended up fighting herself as well as Gauff. Sabalenka was 4-1 up and 40-love up in the first set, yet only just scraped 7-6.
    Well done to Gauff , she is improving noticeably each year. Wimbledon soon.

      @Smartkid2387 Absolutely. I'm not sure why people are out there thinking that the roof should be closed for a bit of wind. That's the luck of the draw for outdoor tournaments.
