Didn't have time to stop you guys but I totally saw both of you walking toward kiddie land about 6:45pm as myself and my kids were leaving the park. Really wanted to stop and say hello but my kids were spent from the heat.

I think the most helpful and important thing to consider in this debate is the ride you guys quickly disregarded at the beginning of the video - Woodstock Express. None of those other parks have a kids’ coaster/family coaster to support their wood collection. Neither do parks like Michigan’s Adventure, Kings Dominion, Cedar Point; the closest parks with a decent kids’/family woodie are Kentucky Kingdom, Columbus Zoo (and I guess Indiana Beach).
However I think another thing to consider is the variety of ride-type you find at Knoebels between the airtime-focused ride, the speed-focused ride, and the bobsled-style ride, which puts their collection above HW in my mind.
Also, I definitely think Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin beats KI, and it is only a ~20min farther drive than to get to Knoebels.
After KI buys a Mack extreme spinner, they should work with GravityGroup to get a looping woodie in the park, maybe even break the record and go for four! GG is based in Cincinnati and worked on the Beast two years ago, only makes sense for them to work together again.

Voyage is the king of wooden coasters

I rode it again a couple weeks ago. It's the most smooth and fast it's maybe ever been outside of opening year.

My heart says KI but my head says HW. I have a real special sentiment for beast for personal/family reasons. Mystic is great and a top 5-6 woody for me. Racer is running the best in a very long time and they also no longer have the 2 click rule so it has shot up my rankings. However, Voyage is my #1 woody and legend is top 5 for me. Raven clears Racer.
Oh - I know it won’t happen but I would LOVE to see a return of backwards Racer.

I agree with Don. Kings Island really does have a stellar collection of Wooden Roller Coasters, but Holiday World is the only one I would say can beat them. The Beast is great, but Holiday World literally set out to build the best coaster they could muster, on every one. The refused to put down something generic. Anyway, if you haven't ridden the Voyage, you should. Holiday World isn't terribly far from Cincinnati, and it's a great little park. I managed to get some friends down from Cincy and they definitely loved it. The Voyage was built to be the best wooden coaster ever, and as it's basically 30 years newer, it does what the Beast cannot. And I really love the Beast- it's legendary- but the Voyage is superior.
As for Ryan's comments about age and technology in rides, I think when you're looking at individual rides, you might give it some slack (ie Oh, the Beast is covered with trims because it was built in a different era), but I think when you're looking at the park, only vintage rides make the park feel outdated. So when looking at the parks collection overall, I still think Holiday World has the better woodie collection.
Love the show guys! Keep it up!

I'd have to give the edge to Holiday World. Voyage is #1 for sure. I think Phoenix is way over hyped and would be nothing if its buzz bars were replaced like on many other wooden coasters.

The Beast will always be #1 to me. I have been riding it since day 1. Its a pride thing. I have ridden coasters across the nation. I compare all against The Beast. It is magical. That animated commercial that came out pre season cause me to bug the hell out of my parents to be there day one.

Six Flags Great America has American Eagle, Viper, and Goliath(which they consider wooden)... should be in discussion. Kennywood's rides are almost like a history museum. I would ride KI Racer before Mystic Timbers. Mystic for me isn't in same league as Thunderhead. I am sorry, just my thoughts lol. I know a lot won't feel same. It boils down to this.. Holiday World and Kings Island... Voyage is next level at Holiwood Nights and I don't think ANY roller coaster experience on earth can match the Voyage at Holiwood Nights. That being said Voyage during day is still one of the best. It's really close between Holiday World and Kings Island. I think I have to go with Holiday World.

Knoebles clears. None of the other parks have a bobsled coaster, and Pheonix will continue to be an easy top 1 rating until a contender that also has just a buzz bar appears.

I have to say Holiday World aswell. Raven is as good in quality to Legend pre-gci work.. but it's just shorter in duration.
BUT.. much like the overall collection, KI has the best well-rounded collection with rides from mild to wild.. but nothing world class that is of a more modern design/ gimmick
But I'm still resilient so i pick holiday world.

Maize is the prettiest yellow, also, Holiday World wins this debate easily. The Beast is not comparable to the Voyage beyond the wooded setting and track material

Sadly I believe the Racer only runs the red side in the morning due to the low number of people riding. It's a walk on ride 90% of the time before they open both sides. Doesn't make sense racing another mostly empty train. Do hope one day they switch the blue side to run backwards again.
