  • This is a 49-minute interview with J. Kenji López-Alt, currently one of the most famous international cooking stars. Kenji currently lives in Seattle with his wife and two young children. This interview delves into his adventurous journey to become one of the most popular food influencers today with 1.2M subscribers on his RUclips channel and over 500K followers on Instagram. His latest book "The Wok-Recipes and Techniques," (2022) is already a New York Times best seller and as was his two previous books, "The Food Lab" and "Every Night is Pizza Night." Interviewer is North American Post contributor Elaine Ikoma Ko. The Post is a Seattle-based community newspaper serving the Japanese and Asian community.

    Fabulous interview. I love Kenji because he's so down to earth and easy in his communication but also because he obviously wants to encourage and contribute to a better world for all of us. And he respects the concept of privacy. If you haven't yet, go explore his videos where he cooks and teaches and shows us all how we don't have to sweat about our cooking choices.

    This is genuinely so interesting to me, especially the bit at the end about learning the science behind techniques and learning different methods across various Asian cuisines, even as an Asian person who's grown up around wok cooking.
