Can someone please explain to me how do I choose the right gearbox for a VLV D16 Euro 6 (650HP/479Kw) (3150Nm) engine? I'm using a MB MP3 6x4 truck and I chose to replace it's engine as said in the above, simply because it is the only one with the highest HP. But now I'm stuck at which gearbox to choose because I don't understand the ratio and diff's numbers. I'm currently using a flatbed trailer but I am planning to buy a lowboy trailer once I have enough money.
I don’t know. The gear ratios are easy. Lower gear ratio number means faster and higher number means slower. Gear ratio of 1 is 1 rotation of engine to 1 rotation of driveshaft.
