Great analysis. This has always been one of my favorite Glass piano pieces from my favorite contemporary composer. I got to meet and speak with Philip Glass in 1988 when I was an undergrad in music performance. His ensemble performed during our annual "Contemporary Music Festival". He was so nice and gracious with his time. And, just in case there are some unfamiliar with the Philip Glass joke... Knock, knock. Who's there? Knock, knock. Who's there? Knock, knock. Who's there? Knock, knock. Who's there? Knock, knock. Who's there? Knock, knock. Who's there? PHILIP GLASS!!
