- HAYAA | MODESTY - THE forgotten PIECE OF HIJAB - Salam all, this is my take on the direction that our idea of modesty and hijab is taking and some tips for us all on how we can improve inshallah.

Trying to be modest is the really hard these days. But in this video, i'm talking about all aspects of modesty for example modest clothing especially were the deen is concerned but more importantly having modesty in behaviours.
When people talk about hijab nowadays, rarely do you hear them talk about modesty in behaviour neither do they talk about hijab or modesty for men. I hope we can get a conversation going about how we improve our sense of haya/modesty in our behaviour and shift hijab from just being about modesty in our clothing.
FYI - I am not in any way a sheikha, nor would I consider myself a student of knowledge. I have such a long way to go with my hijab and development as a person and in my deen. I'm just your average Muslim woman trying to better herself.

Samee i converted right after turning 16 and i will be 17 soon. It really sucks knowing that my friendships with males are haram when some of these people have been my friends since I was 13. Please pray for my strength 🙏🏽

I feel the same about these issues. I wish more people wearing the hjjab acknowledged they're representing a larger community. It's a responsibility. The news has a field day because of such behaviours. Thank you for bringing up this conversation.

I'm a new hijabe and I'm trying my best and actually starting this hijab but the SAS thing is buying hijabe things her in our country is expensive.. But I know I can have it someday

Someone reported they see hijabi's in these clubs/lounges and of course who are we to judge but it gives the non believers the wrong idea. I've seen a few in a comment section say how hypocritical our community is: so much for modesty he said, according to him he sees hijabi's wearing tight jeans, so tight that you can see their camel toe (astaghfirullah) and that was coming from a non-believer..

I have had so many people ask me if I’ve been to Hajj, I asked them why you ask that and they say because after a sister goes to Hajj she starts wearing it and that’s how it supposed to be and I was like no I never read that anywhere. May Allah help us all to keep seeking knowledge and continue down the street Path. Ameen

Alhamdulillah for your reminder Muslims first need to understand that intention is most important we wear hijab because Allah (swt) commands us in the Qur'an so we do it for the sake of Allah in order that we might gain rewards. Thankyou sister Nafeesa for being so kind and addressing to this problem .i am a college student wearing hijab...there are other hijabis in my class but i find them to be like in dating and all and its very difficult for me to see such a thing and answer ppl every now and then about the difference in my way of hijab and theirs...and i feel so awkward and so out of place in this time that smdays i just dont wanna cm out of my room ...its very difficult as i am not having any friend also to share the problem with me ..sister plz can u share with me your email id or smthing so that i can interact with u and share my problems. 😟😟

I am not a Muslim I am a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. But I also want to practice modesty and I noticed that sometimes Christian modesty is compromising so I’d look at Muslim women as a role model because of how they carry themselves. Good job!

Thank you I am an American revert with a very well let's just say American party past. I have not thought of my Hajib like that I struggle to let go of my past habits one of the biggest ones it the lack of thought I give the words I use, and not proudly I could see my self bring that girl at the bus stop. and offten I don't even know what word or words I may have said, but to now ba able to see my hajib as a reminder inchallah will be the help I need. living where I do is a whole nother level of struggle, so thank you again
As-Salaamu'alaykum and Peace from Allah! In Surah An-nur ayat 31 Allah tells believing men & believing women to lower their gaze. So try practicing that haya modesty as much as you can. Lowering of the gaze is a protection for your heart and soul.

MashAllah you doin such a great job.I absolutely agree with you especially these days when there is alot of 'modest fashion' which has narrowed the meaning of hijab to such a little thing as only covering your hair.I personally don't have any problem with a girl wearing turban or showing some hair underneath but what hurts me is that they all call it hijab and modesty and preach it as a recognition of Islam. When in reality Hijab has such a beautifully deep meaning and is alot more than hiding your hair.Love from Pakistan.May Allah bless you.

But about smoking part? I think it is cultural mainly, why to think it is related to Hayaa, I mean smokig is not like drinking alcohol(which is Kabira and prohibited clearly in Quran).
It is not matter if I agree with you in all the parts, Masha Allah you have a strong understanding of the concepts you are handling and presenting and I adore that about you, may Allah bless you and reward all your deeds.
Aichetou Mohamed Abdellahi I would have to strongly disagree on that one. Anything that caused harm to the body is forbidden in Islam, our bodies are a trust from Allah and it is a misunderstanding that smoking is not haram. Smoking, drinking, taking drugs for other than medicinal purposes (recommend by a doctor) is also forbidden and even the non Muslims know that smoking is a shameful deed, which is why we teach children at school not to do such things and there are many warning signs at the back of cigarettes packet. I pray that Allah continues to guide us all, ameen. Jazakallah for watching.

The Greek word translated "apparel" in the King James Version does not refer only to clothing but can mean "demeanor" or "attitude".
-Paul is saying women to prepare themselves for worship. It encompasses a woman's total preparation for worship, involving both the attitude of the heart and proper adornment on the outside.

Modesty mixed with humility. It connotes a sense of shame; Shame in inciting lust or distracting others from proper worship of God.
sobriety - "self-control " (sophrosune)
"Sobriety" is better translated "self-control".
In extra biblical literature, sophrosune is used to speak of totally controlling ones sexual passions and desires.
