- The Comparison watch is 100% genuine, the kit is for comparison to the real deal. Will be making another video with the glass, solar panel & button swap soon, along with case and band installation.
Will be upgrading a GW-B5600MG-1DR and a GW-B5600AR-1DR which should be interesting with a red screen.
Worth a note of mention, the kit i order was for a DW5600 model, which i mistakenly ordered because i wanted the one compatible with the GWB5600, which there is an option for. The Primary difference is that the sapphire screen on this kit has a non translucent panel (proper for a DW5600), and the correct crystall has a clear unmasked area for the panel to operate and be seen properly. I have since ordered the correct crystal for the GWB5600 and it is on its way.
I don't understand this. You only compare visuals, but not the quality. Why didn't you show how much both bracelets move sideways to see how good the links were put together? And what about the connections on the cheaper versions? Are they spring bars? And what about the weight and the overall feel?
If you still have these can you do a scratch test on a link or something to see how both hold up to scratches? Like use a screw driver and scratch it to see which one comes off first. That will tell us how well the coating is held up on these knock offs since you have the real thing.

The seller who sold these in the same auction most likely charged customers separately for these, its like an additional 40 $, and they got two styles of screens: DIY and Sticker type, the former has to be replaced with the 5600 crystal and the latter is slightly smaller and just glued on top of the original crystal. In the latter, the crystal will then be level with the bezel. A third version are the thinner evolution screen protectors, they lack the casio branding....the button set costs about 18 $ the DIY screen about 20 $, the sticker type about 14 $ and the design screen protector about 9 $....
Wonderful quality. How ever looks one less link each side compared to original one.
Please do a tutorial if you can about how to do the mod I’m crazy to do it but I don’t know who

This kit is pretty much a mock up on non-solar 5600's. You know poser type thing. If you are going to use these on solar models, it's better not to install the mock up solar panel glass.
Your solar watch fits right into it you just leave out the screen that comes seperate and just mount your watch straight into it

there are 2 items u need to buy, the band/bezel kit, and the glass/buttons kit, to make a full conversion if needed. make sure to pick dw (non solar) or gw(solar) glass.

I popped out the crystal using a crystal pressers with a tiny block of lego pieces. Don't popped out the solar sheet, cz the solar sheet is a thin layer only.
@@hendri_aja_dech did the solar sheet glued to the crystal or separated? how to pop the crystal but not the solar sheet? aren't they clamped together to the case? my gw6900 and gx56 seem to have fog between the crystal and solar sheet. i'm planning to uv glued it together to solved that fog problem permanently. sorry for the noob questions. 😅
@@zamSEG It's not glued, it's separated pieces of sheet but very thin like a plastic flexible sheet. Bottom side has a white colour, and upper side has a grey colour. To pop the crystal, i use watches crystal opener/presser, but since the head for pressing is too big (since it's round teflon material), you need to put a little plastic block (in this case i'm using small lego pieces), rectangular shape in the middle of round teflon. Make sure it fit inside clear crystal area only. Press it then then voila, the crystal only will popped out. Too bad I can't upload picture here.
@@zamSEG Additional note : I don't know about gw6900 and gx56, how it's constructed. Im talking about gw-b5600 and gmw-b5000 series construction.

Hello I am looking at getting this set for my gw5610. They have the bezel and band in stock, but not the buttons and glass. Would the buttons and glass off the 5600 series fit?
Buttons should fit, i believe though, and could be wrong, but i dont bel;ieve the glass will work on a 5610.

Of course they did a good job copying the real thing. I wonder though how the coating holds up to the real thing?
The coating would be quite inferior to the original. Certainly not DLC, possibly not even PVD and the titanium is likely a soft low grade impure metal.

Does the tough solar work with that new glass?
The glass in this conversion kit seems to have those transparent gaps (also present in the original TVA). The light should be able to pass through them just fine. I'd be more worried about replacing it. Although you can change the bezel and bracelet of your watch without opening it - removing the glass or buttons (for that matter) requires a complete disassembly. There's also the case of how the crystal has been manufactured - it wouldn't be much fun if there was something off about it (not visible at first glance) only to find out after taking your G-Shock for a swim. 😬

So the kit which uses real titanium is $14? I wonder how much the $1600 watch cost Casio to make. $5?
At best it would be low grade titanium. Not DLC coated. Workers likely treated like shit and paid very little while being exposed to toxic chemicals.

It's a mod kit, it doesn't come with the watch.

Yes! I ever have Steel version and low durable quality. I still worry for durable coating at titanium version.
