and five years later im commenting to confirm this is the first thing i thought about stumbling upon this video..its wild they had this in their repertoire for at least a decade before recording it on album. wonder how many other gems theyve had/have and are not recorded (yet, hopefully)
Roger Waters from Pink Floyd played it on their first album, in the songs Lucifer Sam and Scarecrow, you can see him with the Rickenbacker and a cello/violin bow on The Scarecrow's videoclip
@@lukecevans that can’t play a bad note!! They have inspired my bass playing so much when it comes to just playing long drone kinda stuff that goes on and on!
@@bassimprovjams3772 I got the chance to briefly say hello to both Mauro and Thierry outside of the venue they performed at in Cleveland earlier this month, it was very cool
This video is great! I was also at this show back in 2003 and have posted my recording of the set (ruclips.net/video/6XmfRRB0C-M/видео.html) -- sound quality isn't as good as this, and I'm further back from the stage, but was able to capture a lot of the band's film loops. I'm thinking about possibly editing the two videos together, with mogwaifeartexas' permission . . . . Let me know if that's alright. Thanks again for posting!
I can't believe this performance is now 20 years old today!
Also approaching 20 years since the iconic performance in L'Olympic. Time flies.
11 years later they played at Granada Theater in Dallas, opening with the same song, from an album that came out almost a decade later...

@@OGCNNDSK have you been pleased thus far?
Yanqui live seems to always blow my mind, goddamn
Breathtaking.
Those guys must be proud of having had a conversation with guitarist David Bryant of Godspeed at minute 1:42:51
Good catch!
Very professional Video. Nice Job! All the close ups! I'd never have the patience to do that. Thank you!

Oh how my life would be complete to hear M=F live....
I'd love to see em play it maybe possibly in there 2022 shows
@@demongar2870 Maybe if enough people demand it. Start a petition!! LoL
Sadly it’ll never be played again
I'm born in Feb. 2003 and know first this band at 16 from my dad. :)
Thank you so much for this upload!! One of the best bands ever!!! Their so special to me!!
It's hard to wrap my mind around the fact that they played this the same year i was born...
56:00 Rare footage of a bowed bass guitar. I can't say I can hear it over the cello, however.
Roger Waters from Pink Floyd played it on their first album, in the songs Lucifer Sam and Scarecrow, you can see him with the Rickenbacker and a cello/violin bow on The Scarecrow's videoclip
Sophie looks so young here
I love the basslines on world police so much!!! What a treat!!
Even the three chords playing when tuning his guitar at 1:43:26 sounds amazing

Man the dembow beat made mladic so much better
god that world police performance is amazing
They played Mladic in 2003 ? And released it in 2012... damn, i hope for them they are proud of this song now
Yah both mladic and we drift like worried fire were created pre-hiatus and played a couple times live in 2003
Best version of Mladic I've heard.
55:00
Only 313 likes?! "De gustibus non est disputandum"
I know, right? And they played for nearly two hours!
Rockets Fall and World Police... Dammit
why the fuck don't they ever play broken Windows?: /
because it's just ambience I guess lol, ambience that would be perfect for their set :p if they didn't have such vibes already
@@basielu I think you’re confusing broken windows for she dreamt she was a bulldozer, broken windows is not really ambient
anyone else feel "odd" from sped up recording??
lol were people high here?
I doubt these guys are stoners
@@Ac-dk9ki Is that sarcasm lol?
I’d definitely be smoking a few blunts at this show, just saying
I don't get the low rating for yanqui uxo... its just beautiful
Something was lost in the production in the studio versions, but live it was some of the best music ever made imho
