- Audrina Patridge drops by the pool house today to discuss with Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke her new book, “Choices”, becoming a podcaster, Misha Barton’s time on The Hills, and how Laguna Beach and The Hills resonated with The O.C.
Later, Rachel and Melinda break down S3, Episode 9, “The Disconnect.” The ladies discuss SAT scores and tubas. They also take a deep dive into Marissa and Johnny’s relationship… and strip clubs, lots of strip clubs!
The Disconnect Synopsis: Marissa takes on the role of caretaker in the aftermath of Johnny’s accident and the two grow closer as a result. Seth and Summer compete with one another to get into Brown University. Also, Ryan takes an internship at the Newport Group, learns more about Matt Ramsey, and covers for him when Matt blows a big deal for Sandy. And Kirsten and Julie start a new business venture together with a very interesting first client.

Great epsiode of the podcast 😁❤️… I kinda wish you guys go back to talking about the epsiode scene by scene because I do like when you go by storyline, it just sometimes some great scenes are missed being talked about
I read what was written about Mischa on the Hills (and watched every episode) and I didn't understand the productions beef with her. Her story line was the most interesting on the show (for what it's worth.) Them saying she was too boring, I mean, most of the other kids on that show were straight up ridiculous acting and she was always kind of like playing it real and being the voice of reason. In the end, reality shows just suck. They stir up shit so you'll watch and it's scripted and actually more of an altered reality. That's boring, not Mischa.
Yes, no real storyline, fake (really bad) acting... It's just toxic.

Unpopular opinion: I love love Johnny!! Yes I love Ryan too, but Johnny would have been a good bf to Marissa too. I mean she was 17-18! At that age you should have many boyfriends before settling with Ryan 😂
Podcast actually starts at 23:30. There truly is a ‘disconnect’ between this guest and The OC. She barely even watched the show. I’m not sure why she was a guest in the first place.

They should only have guests who worked on the OC or have some relationship to the show. The only useful tie-in/connection was when Rachel asked about Mischa. Otherwise it was a boring interview. Audrina talks about being on a reality show as if it takes great skill and sacrifice 😆 without mentioning all the huge benefits/paychecks. I was almost waiting for Melinda to roll her eyes.. which I did lol.

big oc fan but i've never heard of The Hills other than on this podcast.
The problem with The Hills and why people got soo ANNOYED at times is because they were telling the viewers that the show is legit and real. But come to find out (Especially in the later seasons) The show was very much produced. They lied to the public and the viewers so yea, that pissed ALOT of people off to where they did NOT even care to watch anymore 💯 ... Personally, I love The Hills and I own seasons 1-5 on dvd (In the early seasons it did give off a real legit vibes but later seasons were hella fake, you could just feel it while watching)

I'm sad that the writers messed up the whole Newmatch thing for Julie and Kirsten. Julie the madam by season 4 😂💀 Just one of the many intereting storylines that crash and burn in this show unfortunately.
