When I was in the dark cave of my sin, Christ led me out and I love him so much for having mercy on such a wretched sinner. But now that I am out of that constant darkness, I am still at the first step of the ladder. Every time I take my first step I fall again. Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a Sinner.
Don't give up! I was in the church for years before I actually realized what God was doing for me..I was so wrapped up in my past sins it was awful...God have mercy on me. Just turn your back on the world as hard as you can and keep fighting! Study the life of St Nektarios and immolate him. God bless you! Get out of the world and you will succeed over time. Peace
Gotta let the past go! Everytime I think of my sinful past I fall away and think ...."I'm trash ! Why should I even bother ! Jesus hates me! Why bother!?" It's a vicious cycle ! I pray for all of us struggling! Keep pushing!
“Pray simply. Do not expect to find in your heart any remarkable gift of prayer. Consider yourself unworthy of it. Then you will find peace. Use the empty cold dryness of your prayer as food for your humility.” - St Macarius of Optina
@@CenterPorchNP I am sorry for your struggles. Keep the faith body mind and soul thinking of Christ on the cross and the hope and joy of the resurrection. This joy is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in you.
The spiritual and whole person experience of maintaining the faith when a worldly difficult occur rapidly one after the other is a unique indescribable feeling of inner peace and humbled joy. I wish I had more of such times rather than continuously falling back from the ladder. Thank you Father Seraphim for putting that into words and for inspiring us on holding on and keep the faith at all times.
This is exactly what has been my turmoil the last week, I had not seen a video from you Fr. Seraphim in almost 3 months and something told me to look you up on RUclips today and I saw this video addressing my present turmoil...
Fr. Seraphim, be blessed for your words! Keep on giving us the hope and faith that Christ has graced you with ❤ I hope that one the Our Lord arranges it so that I can pay you a visit!
Thank you for this. So helpful, especially when you talked about how in olden times, people just obeyed and did not self-evaluate so much. May God have mercy on us!
With each generation removed from the Apostles the less most Christian's are grounded and in The Faith. Two thousands years ago the early Christian's actually lived what they believed. That has lessened with each generation until we see what is today. The strongest is always going to be that that is closest to the Original.
Those that actually walked with Christ also struggled. Many examples are given in the Gospels. We have the benefits of learning from those that came before us.
I'm old enough to have learned on my own that not everything is instant. If anything is worth anything, it's worth working for. It is hard to do though, especially with all this technology making things appear so easy and so fast. But I'm getting there, little at a time. Thanks for these videos. It's good to have a different point of view.
Watch the movie "They live" from John Carpenter. The problem is that there are some people that are wicked beyond imagination. Evil spirits are astral projecting out of them in order to cripple/hurt/comprimise the inner beeing in everybody. I think its only some percent that do this big damage to mankind. Also Jesus Christ said "do not fear those wo are able to kill the body but cannot harm the soul". "Do fear those who are able to ruin soul and body in hell". I think in those modern times big evil is in some people. But also great wisdom in others given by god.
Are these catholic prayers also orthodox? “Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.” “Glory be to the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit as it was in The beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.”
Even if they aren´t, they should be okay as long as you pray the orthodox ones most frequently. That´s my thought as a lay man, but please ask your spiritual father in any doubts.

I no longer want to subscribe to Ancient Faith but I love you, Father .
Why not?
Better face the music wherever I find myself. Look at Padre Pio!

Iona is an island off of the coast of Scotland that had a famous monastery built on it by St. Columba in the 6th century
What about not feeling the holy spirit every time we pray, should one be concerned?

Yes!!! Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox have a lot in common. We were in full union with each other during the first 1000 years of church history.
Thank you 🙏
