DIY Drywall Repair & Supplies For Beginners. For those DIY Homeowners like myself, I wanted to provide a simple tutorial on the steps I took to replace a few drywall patches and holes in the garage. Drywall repairs don't have to be super daunting, it's just one of those projects that often gets put on hold. I spent about $40 on drywall supplies from Home Depot. It would be a little more, but I had a few items on hand.
Supplies Used:
Utility Knife
Putty Knife
Spackling
Scrap Piece of Wood
Drywall Knife
Scrap Pieces of Drywall
All Purpose Joint Compound
Rafter Square, can use a T square or something with a straight edge
Mixing Drill Accessory
Drill with Phillips head attachments
1 1/4" Drywall Screws
12" Mud Pan
120, or 150 and 220 Grit Sand Paper
Sander
Step Ladder/Stool
2 foot level
