Liz your behind the scenes coverage is the best and the fact that you’re familiar with all these guys speaks volumes about Loz’s and your involvement in the sport.
The banter between Thor's Strength Coach, Sebastian and Mitch is hilarious at (7:38). "We're hoping Mitch zeros" and then the ear on the door joke as a clapback by Mitch was brilliant! I love the modern camaraderie and rapport between the Strongman community these days so much better than the old Rivalry between Eddie and Thor.
It's great. The strongman community should be a bunch of guys just wanting the best for eachother. The ultimate win is when all the best are there, they have their best days, you share tips and tricks, and the best man wins. I think that's what most of them want. A win when someone is injured, or a win because you have some critical tech you keep secret, or you're misleading someone will always be a bit sour even if it's a win. I guess it also helps that they're all strong giants. They don't need to ego check and pretend to be tough. They know they are, and everybody else knows it too. So what's left is to just be friendly or atleast professional. :)
Then you clearly never followed strongman as Eddie and Thor didn’t fall out until after Eddie retired after winning worlds. Stop jumping on a bandwagon and do your homework. If/when Thor gets his pressing power back, he will be super hard to beat. Also I hate that sometimes atlas stones comes down to tacky and not actual athlete ability. One of the reasons I don't like the event is that risk of "equipment failure"
Thor's fanboys really need to stop with this excuse. It is lame. Mitch is the best strongman for a reason, and he doesn't make excuses for when HE fails.
How do they choose who goes first, second, etc... at an event?? I feel like it makes such a huge difference knowing how yoir opponent did before you go...
Well done MMT i said ages ago you would be back and you just beat a new titan. stay at this weight and keep making that arm into a diamond right angle, keep uping your weights bro because the way you pull i think you are training right for it and should keep it up plus gain. Well done bro
The Axles wouldn't have been messed up if they didn't look identical. It's also a lack of spectacle. I'd like to see some wheels and plates hanging off of that Axle. There may only have been a 30 lb difference between the two, but they're so similar, the equipment guys and thus Brian was duped into thinking they were correct. This is kind've unacceptable at the highest level. No knock on Brian specifically, he's only the show-runner, and he'll always take the responsibility for it.
The atlas stone event was a disaster. I'm so sick of atlas stones: any event that relies on sticky stuff working perfectly is stupid. Let's see some natural stones with just chalk or no stones at all. The last good stone event I watched was the natural stones over hitching post at the Rogue.
Really poor to see so many no lifts on the stones, obviously I'm not there, but if other athletes have managed ok then there are limited excuses. Gutted about the medley order issue but neither of these issues is going to overshadow the great event Brian and team have put on, its really in a class of its own at this point due to how heavy it is, how many athletes and how many events, for me its THE competition and really separates the cream of the crop
Great weekend so far. Shaw Open, OSG Europe and SMOE. All great, the only problem was the livestream for SMOE. It sucked. All the other streams were good but SMOE wasn't. Stopped watching during the deadlift and watched it this morning.
Trying to catch up with the PPV I bought, but can't load Day 1 this morning. I was watching it last night just fine. Is this just temporary? Anyone else have the same issue?
Only surprise is Tom on stones, coaching would have made a big difference. His brother is probably bummed he wasn’t there. 1 and 2 are what I expected.
Any Day 1 recaps anywhere? I can't find a proper summary. (Lucas talked about his own 4 events, but I haven't seem some 3rd party give an overview of Day 1)
@janekpyrkowski8777 thanks, the numbers are in. Now to await all the details those tables cannot show from athlete/coach/reporters behind the scenes/at the event in-person.
We all know Thor isn't at his best, cause when he was at his best, his overheads were great, on the log, axel, and dumbbell, also he retired, lost a ton of weight, did a different sport boxing, then gained a ton of size back and got back into it, which is very inspiring in all honesty, and still came second, but we all know Thor isn't at his best, and likely won't be with the overhead and been retired for a good few years ect, still dangerous, still can win comps, but at his full best I don't see it, Thor 2018 would've smashed this comp, hopefully thors overhead will improve, but his deadlifting and his throwing is still the best, but hopefully Thor will be that all round strongman that he was in 2018 it's a big ask but hopefully
What's surprising is that he's still the best or atleast one of the best when it comes to 1 repetition maximum anything and even at dynamic moving events with extremely heavy weights Arm over arm, he is a legit monster, moose's squats are questionable to me (for the first time i have ever questioned Mitch on something)

Order from previous event
Athetes go according to their placement in the previous event, reversed. So if you win, you go last, etc etc.
The Moose is the man to beat!! IMO the dude is gonna be the 🐐 one day
Go Mitch, Go Thor!
Crazy that Thor wins 5 out of 8 events and still doesn't win. Mitch is Mr Consistency.
Do you guys know what that spray they used was? On Mitch’s knees and once earlier on a tshirt. It seems like an aerosol grip spray?
Wd 40 to get it off and some industrial can (Mitch has made a video on this specific topic a few weeks back on his channel)
Well done MMT i said ages ago you would be back and you just beat a new titan. stay at this weight and keep making that arm into a diamond right angle, keep uping your weights bro because the way you pull i think you are training right for it and should keep it up plus gain. Well done bro
You and Liz should do a couples battle against Brian and Keri.
Next year, I am there live.
The atlas stone event was a disaster. I'm so sick of atlas stones: any event that relies on sticky stuff working perfectly is stupid. Let's see some natural stones with just chalk or no stones at all. The last good stone event I watched was the natural stones over hitching post at the Rogue.
Thank you for the coverage. How's the altitude treating you?
Ok, I think! The jet-lag has us both a bit messed up with our sleep though.
Well done to every athlete!👏 Gutted for Tom😥
Is it possible to see full competition video or is it possible only for amateur?
pay per view livestream
Big Loz: THEY CALLED ME A MAD MAN
22:24
Great weekend so far. Shaw Open, OSG Europe and SMOE. All great, the only problem was the livestream for SMOE. It sucked. All the other streams were good but SMOE wasn't. Stopped watching during the deadlift and watched it this morning.
Trying to catch up with the PPV I bought, but can't load Day 1 this morning. I was watching it last night just fine. Is this just temporary? Anyone else have the same issue?
Same issue, day 1 wasn't available first thing and now shows as available but won't play
@@esson77 yeah it sucks
@@esson77 Seems to be fixed now!
@@eladrio2311 Seems to be fixed now!
Yo Lozzi!!! I need that shirt IMMEDIATELY! “Smash & Pass” epic gym shirt
Only surprise is Tom on stones, coaching would have made a big difference. His brother is probably bummed he wasn’t there.
1 and 2 are what I expected.
Lolz looking like a bronze beast…. But then Brian stood next to him lol
Im guessing Eddie isn't there?? I thought he said he couldn't make this one but wasn't sure
Any Day 1 recaps anywhere? I can't find a proper summary. (Lucas talked about his own 4 events, but I haven't seem some 3rd party give an overview of Day 1)
Go to strongman archives.com
@janekpyrkowski8777 thanks, the numbers are in. Now to await all the details those tables cannot show from athlete/coach/reporters behind the scenes/at the event in-person.
I'm knackered 😂😂😂😂
What happened with the medley??
18:30 that conversation tells me that they didnt know the point system, mitch was 5 up after the keg not 3
Wish we could get a liz feature on the livestream commentary
Would be great to replace Todd with her.
My man getting a nice tan!
13:09 he should of known about the high elevation situation and arrived sooner to adapt
💪💪💪
What happened that Brian called out?
Looking at points from day 1. What happened to Novikov? Did he withdraw or just not doing good.
Didn't do stones as didn't want to risk his Bicep. Was poor on other events TBH clearly not fully fit
He really shouldn't be there
We all know Thor isn't at his best, cause when he was at his best, his overheads were great, on the log, axel, and dumbbell, also he retired, lost a ton of weight, did a different sport boxing, then gained a ton of size back and got back into it, which is very inspiring in all honesty, and still came second, but we all know Thor isn't at his best, and likely won't be with the overhead and been retired for a good few years ect, still dangerous, still can win comps, but at his full best I don't see it, Thor 2018 would've smashed this comp, hopefully thors overhead will improve, but his deadlifting and his throwing is still the best, but hopefully Thor will be that all round strongman that he was in 2018 it's a big ask but hopefully
What's surprising is that he's still the best or atleast one of the best when it comes to 1 repetition maximum anything and even at dynamic moving events with extremely heavy weights
Arm over arm, he is a legit monster, moose's squats are questionable to me (for the first time i have ever questioned Mitch on something)
If a guy called Big Loz refers to you as "the big man" you must be pretty big.
