    If I ever moved back to the Bow Valley, I would definitely choose Canmore over Banff.

      Having lived in both Canmore & Banff myself, I think a lot of folks would also prefer to live in Canmore if given the choice. Banff is an extremely special place to live though, and makes a really great place to call home for those who meet the need to reside. Cheers! - Dan McGuire Canmore & Cochrane REALTOR

      We do have an indoor ice rink in town - I'm not 100% sure on the hours and operations in the summertime though; maybe check the website for the Town of Canmore for specifics. I opted to skate outside on a nearby lake in this video and it was definitely a cold day! Cheers - Dan McGuire Canmore & Cochrane REALTOR

    • @canmore-cochrane-real-estate
      @canmore-cochrane-real-estate  Год назад +1

      Hi Peter! We have gorgeous summers here with warm weather (into the 30Cs in the day at times) while still getting cooler nights (and I’ve even been snowed on in July!). I have had bears in my garden for sure (check out the reel on my Instagram). Town can get busy with travellers in the summer but that’s part of the fun atmosphere; it’s always relaxing when the fall sets in and town quiets down to mostly locals once again. Cheers!

    Considering visiting early November. Will I miss the snow at that time? I am terrified to drive on snow covered roads!

    • @canmore-cochrane-real-estate
      @canmore-cochrane-real-estate  2 года назад

      Hi! It's really hard to say what the weather will be like in November, as typically in our shoulder seasons we can see "every season in a day". Generally in September or October, we will get at least one decent snow storm, but typically that melts away quickly. We could have a year like 2021 where November saw record snowfall and ski hills open early... or it could be like other years where we don't see much real snow until nearly Christmas! In terms of roads being bad though, you should be good in November; generally the icy roads come around in Jan-Mar, and even still, the drive from Calgary International Airport is a very well maintained 4 lane divided highway. Hope you do get to visit! Cheers - Dan

My wife and I lived and worked in Banff prior to moving to Canmore - I worked in a number of roles at the Banff Springs until I was a Regional Group Sales Manager for Fairmont (Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper & Whistler). This november ill be finishing my bachelor Civil Engineering in Canmore at a research institute. I was wondering if you have tips for finding housing in Canmore as a student? I'm from the Netherlands btw and I'm in love with Canadian nature.

    • @canmore-cochrane-real-estate
      @canmore-cochrane-real-estate  2 года назад

      Hi Arend - that’s exciting! Lots of Canadian nature here to love for sure. I’m assuming you’re looking for a rental ? My advice would be to check the website for PEKA, the largest rental manager in town. They often list properties so you can get a sense of what’s out there for rentals. Another great resource is also the Facebook group “Bow Valley Home Finders” - this is where lots of local people post their rentals. Best of luck!

    How long it takes to drive from Calgary to Canmore? How much is the cost of the acreage in Canmore?

    • @canmore-cochrane-real-estate
      @canmore-cochrane-real-estate  2 года назад +1

      Hi JE - it’s not a long drive - maybe 1-1.5hrs depending on whereabouts in Calgary you are coming from. Canmore doesn’t really have large/acreage pieces of land as we are a high alpine valley, naturally bounded by gorgeous mountain ranges and Banff National Park. So properties & lots tend to be smaller compared to other areas. But that’s OK because the mountains are your backyard!

    How much is a 2 bedroom bungalow go for there .? What is the average winter temperature

    • @canmore-cochrane-real-estate
      @canmore-cochrane-real-estate  2 года назад

      Hi Joe - Prices for 2 bedroom properties tend to vary widely as we have lots of different styles and price points. I would say the range is from ~$500K - $1M CAD with the average 2 bed condo being around ~$600K CAD. Winter temperatures can vary from -35C (brr!) all the way up to +12C when we have warm chinook winds. Most weather websites say around an average of -4C high and -13C low. Cheers!

      @@canmore-cochrane-real-estate thank you for your quick reply...So the wife loves bungalows, she hates stairs and I love mountains. Hmmm The condos are talking town home condos?

    • @canmore-cochrane-real-estate
      @canmore-cochrane-real-estate  2 года назад +1

      @@grandchampionchichi My pleasure Joe. Unfortunately yes.. we do have a lot of stairs here! Since we are in a tight high-mountain valley, land is scarce so we have to densify & build upward where possible. So many if not most 2 bedroom properties are single or dual level condos, or 2-3 storey townhomes. There are very few detached homes in Canmore without stairs as well.
