Hi JJ. Those batteries are for the canopy, with LED lights. Every parking garage by law has to have a ventilation system. You have car's running in a closed space. The deeper the garage, the worse it is.

Thanks, JJ! My daughter lives in Reno, NV and keeps her E-Bike in the Garage. I keep warning her about the danger of Lithium-ion Batteries. BTW, when I was growing up in NYC, so many people called what you put in your flashlight or what powered your car a "bat-tree"!😀

I think the rider peddles the bike which is made easier by the onboard batteries, the chain is linked to an onboard charger, to keep the batteries topped up, more ofetn than not, the batteries do not need charging, but charge them anyway causing an over load, these pedibikes are the same as an electric bike, which assists the rider...if you catch what am saying, Stay safe mate
Seems like More damage is being done by these stupid bikes than all other fires combined…who is being held accountable?? This is worse than the Fird Pinto fiasco in the 1970’s…. Are other cities experiencing similar problems???

Happens in the UK... they say that ION batteries are not stable, but they still turn these vehicles out... its a known fact in the UK that if a EV breaks down on the motor way, no ordinary recovery can recover the vehicle it has to be a specialist recovery, I use ION power tools and very very careful on handling and charging
