The gerber gators have a sentimental place in my heart. One of my uncles did 4 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and carried his gator everyday. He handed it down to me when he retired. And my other uncle gave me one when I was young, still have them. Love them very much, my uncles and the knives lol

Keepers.😊 the US Camillus Knife I’m going to repair and put in then auction for Memorial Day Monday Night 7:00 PM. The case I’m going to get a shield from Case and put in an auction.
That Schrade (you called a Mustang) was the knife I carried as a teenager. 45 years later still have it, AND, cleaned and sharpened it last night after watching/learning from the Dr. Wish I could post a picture here, but can't. Thanks for the inspiration and learning, Kevin!

Good Morning Kevin, a great knife haul this morning. You know I finally got a Camillus US military knife, cleaned it and it looked like a NEW knife. The springs are super tight on this one and I made the mistake of trying to open all blades for a picture. The spring for the knife blade and the awl broke. i was so disappointed , so now Im looking for a spring. Question, are both springs the same? Looked on E bay and can't find one. Oh well wish me luck and keep those great videos coming!! Your show is the high-light of my day...
They are the same. I hate that. Just look for one with a broken blade.
I picked up two knives today my favorite find was an Imperil easy open US Army bone stag 1931 to 1952 and a got my first Rough Rider Barlow in bone stag.

I have a Buck 110 just like that one that I purchased as a teenager. I didn’t like it because I thought it was too large. So, I purchased a 112 Ranger which was a tad smaller. I put the 110 away in a box somewhere. I’ve moved three or four times since and have lost track of it.
Man…find it and see what year it is!

blue ridge the company who bought ontario knife company now also owns the queen cutlery brand it was owned by ontario but unused...so very possible you will start to see new queen cutlery branded folders made in china,also leatherman has cancelled some models apparently so might go up in price

It’s not a vintage queen though. I don’t like the new stuff…I like the old stuff when it comes to Queen, Case XX, especially Schrade. No China, No Japan, No Taiwan. European and USA only for me when it comes to knives.

Nice haul Doc!! Wish I saw your channel a year ago as I threw about 3 of those broken Camillus Military knives in file 13. What’s your theory on why they all break? Metal quality or did they change where the pin is drilled? Only one I kept is also broken but it is 88, same year I joined. Maybe I’ll try to fix like you show one day.
I’ve read they break because the blades are opened at the same time on both ends of the knife on the same spring. I’ve never had that happen to me, but it does make sense. The springs are super strong!
Hello from Sweden! I really enjoy your videos. Some of the knives in your videos isn´t that old but in bad condition. I guess they are used, but I have never broke a blade on a knife. I live not long from the Mora-factory. But there is more nice swedish knife brands.

I have same question? Did they do that for some time or is it an mis-stamp?? Had and seen a lot of 110’s over the years but never seen one of those. My Schrade LB7 with nickel bolsters surplanted my 110 except for my anniversary one

What were those knives to the right of the Infidel? Looked like a German leverlock switchblade and a shell puller switchblade with rubber bands around it. Might have had a broken seer and the blade wouldn’t stay closed.

Hey Knife Doc, What does MGC stand for in Bear MGC? I have a 15" Bowie knife thats stamped as a Hard hat knife but was actually made by Bear MGC and I've never heard what MGC means.
Bear MGC, MGC is the first letters of the three owners last names.

Yeah, the eBay seller by the name of survivor hand they accompany in Virginia. They sell hard hat and knives. They say USA on them.
I have a camellias 1967 the year I was born it has a broke spring as well can I get you to try to fix it and send it back
Sorry, I don’t repair knives for others. I will trade a knife to re do a broken tip and a clean up, but springs and handles are a different animal and the repairs don’t always go as planned. I hope you understand.

Benchmade is so overrated and over priced stick with the spideys and cases and queens
I like Benchmades. Very well made in my opinion. Some are quite pricey.
@@theknifedoctor I just feel like a lot of people buy them for the name and because there popular idk guess there not my thing spyderco is my favorite they make great knives they can get pricey to buy they changed the game in the 70-80s with the one handed patent
Yeah people buy them for their name but it's not just because the name. They buy them for the name because that name means quality. They are made in America and are backed by a lifetime warranty amd are quality steel combined with quality design and American ingenuity.
