We had to stay with my mother for a month after my then-husband got out of the Navy. She didn't tell us until we drove the 3000 miles to get there that my three cats weren't allowed inside. Not even in the mud room. She knew if she told me that ahead of time I would go to my MIL and I had a newborn she wanted to see. Her hunting dogs killed two of my cats, one in front of my little girl. I never forgave her for that and I've kept my cats inside ever since. Almost 30 years later, one of my 5 cats escaped because the door wasn't shut properly and he pawed it open. Valentino was missing for 5 days and I was frantic. When he finally came back, he seemed fine but then his breathing would be labored. Apparently, he was hit by a slow moving car (thank god the speed limit is 25 mph) and his diaphragm separated from his chest from the impact. One emergency surgery, two weeks in a small room with me constantly monitoring him 24/7 and $6000 later, all was well. But everybody knows don’t you dare let one of my cats out. ❤
I saw this program in spain when i was 13, now it's almost 10 years later and i found it scrilling on youtube, i've never been so happy for that 🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️
This shows why my cats have always been inside cats. The birds name was very appropriate. When that scene started, I actually made the comment that it must be tea time.
As a catmom, I am sobbing my eyes out about poor little Betty! Whoever hit her and bolted deserves to have the ghost of my little Sun Tzu deposit a dozen stinky wet poops in all of their shoes and sock drawers! (And on a lighter note, Dr. Chris cleans up *VERY* nicely!)
Seeing Ziggy the monkey put his head down on his paws at the end of the section showing him coming round from the anesthetic, I can just imagine him thinking "Urgh, I'm never drinking again!"
Yes! It's even more dangerous to let them out in australia because cats are considered pests. So people will end up intentionally unaliving them. Another good reason to keep them indoors, but also get them desexed. Plus indoor cats just live so much longer.
I've had two cats that have been indoor cats and two strays that I took in that were allowed outside as they actually went through series of depression if they were not at least allowed some supervised time outside I think speaking with absolute authority that every cat's better indoors is more for their safety, rather than their overall happiness. Of course, you want, cats to stay around for as long as possible. But if they suffer through depression or other things, just so you can keep them alive for a few extra years, who is that really for I don't think it's for them That being said, you don't have to leave them completely unsupervised or Allow them near busy roads But both of my cats that were killed because of cars ours were my indoor cats. They were so desperate to be outside. They would always try to bolt outside every single day we went through training, we hired professionals and yet they never wanted to stay indoors and of course, the one time they got out both times just because of someone leaving the door open for a second too long or. Them just shooting out of the door faster than you can react. They were killed by cars and I still believe if I have just tried them to go outside and supervise them slowly And safely introducing it to the outside world. They wouldn't have ran into the streets. They would have been content like my other 2 cats that were aloud outside. It's not right to speak with Absolute authority on what you should do each cat is different And living situation is different as well
38:45 My cat once jumped off my 2nd floor balcony at night. I only realized it because she wasn't anywhere in the apartment. So I got a flashlight and found her; she was totally fine; cat's are good at jumping and landing. But now I'm on the 3rd floor and let her go out, but only within a cat tent.

at like 49:00 why is everyone so mean about that painting?? It looks incredible, and definitely took HOURS. I'd like to see the vets try and paint something even a fraction as good as that.
@@mireilleplante6358 I mean, they're amazing at being vets, it's just making fun of someone's art is such an unnecessarily mean thing to do 😭. I don't get why they had like 10 mins of the episode dedicated to this bit.
From the first time around that I watched this years ago... I just have to say that Ron the painter is super talented and that all the negative clips were probably cut out to give the series a "chuckle" moment. I truly want to believe that my favorite Vet team was misrepresented in their reactions to the painting. Ron, if you read this, and are still painting, know that you're super talented!! And your heart is enormous! ❤and 🙏🏼✌️🫶
@penslaandco9111 totally agree... they really are way better than this... I feel that the producers/editors were playing up the "drama" and laughs. The Bondi vet team have huge hearts 💕 and I bet they cringe when they see this and what was edited for the episode. You rock Ron!! ✌️🫶
It's not really about the painting or the artist, it's about the subject of the painting and the ongoing odd presents that handsome vet gets. It seems much of the attention he gets is because of his looks, not his skills and that shows in the gifts. You need to not get offended and defensive when you don't understand a situation. It doesn't help you or anyone else. Just say you don't get it and maybe someone will explain it to you. Reacting on pure emotion is a very unhealthy way to live. The only reason people currently have that unhealthy luxury is because life has been so easy in comparison to how it's been through history.
I am so happy to see you cared for the pet chicken. My chickens are my pets. People/ vets in our area don't take them seriously. But bring in a parrot and they are all over it. Good job vet! But you might let the family know it looks like she has the start of bumble foot. Easy to treat at home.
I feel Chris forgets he’s on Camera and he’s clients can always see this…. The man that did that painting is probably a little upset that Chris laughed at it……..😬😔
It makes me so upset every time I see this clip because I truly don't understand all the negative reactions??? The painting is absolutely wonderful, you can tell exactly who the subject is and I love the artist's use of color. And even if it wasn't "good", he still gifted you a unique, special piece that took time and effort, the least you could do is not be rude about it behind his back. :/
Definitely hurt my heart for that guy who gave something of himself to show his appreciation. I was totally surprised and disappointed that their joking about it was included in the published video... WHY??? If they found it so worthy of ridicule, AT THE VERY LEAST they could have left it out of the video. The man never needed to know of their disdain for his heartfelt gift. Over here shakin' my head in dismay!
I have my cats hit by cars zooming down the street so I keep them inside now and they also have a cat Condo attached to my bedroom window so they can go in and out to get fresh air and watch the birds etc. ❤
when the dog is just begging for attention when chris is trying to fix poor homer keeps making me laugh because he was the one who done it! but poor homer!!
Yes! I kept thinking, the dog must view poor Homer as a toy to play with, and is begging for the turtle to be thrown like a Frisbee or something...I could be wrong, though!
And Homer's case is why you don't let your turtles, tortoises, reptiles, birds, and rodents interact with your dogs or cats, they can cause big issues by accident. For example simply a cat or dog licking a bearded dragon can mean that the bearded dragon gets a nasty infection
We run a small animal sanctuary we've had cats come in that have had broken hips, summer tail from being bitten, frostbitten ears, dislocated shoulders, etc all because they do not fare well when they're out. If you love your cat don't listen to them when they want to live out on their own. They cannot make decisions like that they were like a 2-year-old. Therefore if you truly love your cat you will keep them indoors and only let them go out when you were there to watch them are on a leash or on a catio

I will never get over people that say their cats are like their children, yet they let them outside. Then it's all heartbreak and regret when their cat inevitably gets injured. Even if they do not get injured you are shortening their lifespan in general by having them outside. Just don't do it.
Do you let your children outside? There are places where it's fairly safe to let your cats out. I live on a farm and I'd let my cat out every day. He'd climb trees, eat rodents and rabbits, and have a grand ol' time until it was time to come back in. He went missing for a week and came back much less enthusiastic about the outdoors. My sister thinks he got stuck in a neighbor's shed or something of the sort. When my niece got a puppy, he refused to go out at all. The puppy wouldn't hurt him, intentionally, my cat just didn't like how the puppy played.
@@brigidtheirish and when your cat gets eaten by coyotes, or whatever predator lives in your farming area? What you say also doesn't negate the adverse effects on lifespan and health having your cat outside has on them long-term.
Koda’s like “why won’t you humans let me eat it, please let me eat it.” Dogs aren’t really bright Also imagine my shock when a breeder breeds a dog with health issues in their genetics then gets mad when the babies have said genetic issues. Poor puppies

If I had the money, I'd take the 5% chance on that spinal surgery. There's always the alternate choice available further down the line. Sometimes after surgery the swelling goes down and things regenerate, it's rare but with the help of stem cells it's possible.
The way Pearl’s mum spoke to her daughter on the phone really got my back up. I know she is worried about the dog but her poor daughter didn’t have a clue what was going on and must have been terrified. Even if she couldn’t give details a little reassurance would have been a good start.
@@nevaeha4048 Right; the dog would have died if that selfish mother had taken 45 seconds let that worried daughter know what was going on, offering information and the reassurance, such as it might have been, that they were at a vet's who was doing all possible to help the dog. It's not like the mother was doing anything at that moment to facilitate the dog's treatment that would have had to have been stopped if she took out that moment to fill her very upset/worried/concerned daughter in. I hope when that daughter has a child, if the child is in the hospital and the mother/grandmother calls out of her head with worry, that the daughter treats her as she was just treated, and uses the same "only my feelings count, so my worry means I can't spare a moment to alleviate yours" tone and attitude. After all, according to your way of thinking, in that situation the grandmother (mother in this vid.) would have been "fine," since when two people are both worried out of their minds, the one not on the scene who has no idea what's going on is "fine."
When are people going to realize that letting your kitties run loose outside is not a good idea. So many meet their end by getting hit by cars or eating rodent poison, or killed by dogs. If you love your cat, keep it indoors and safe.
not only that but they can be a danger to the local wildlife and have made quite a few species go extinct. People really just need to be active with their cats inside and make sure to play with then and entertain them
Is it me or are they both acting a bit rude to the artist who painted that picture for him. They seem a bit snobby like this is useless what am I going to do with it , even though it probably this very talented artist weeks to paint it ? The artist is very talented and he should be honored that he has made such an impact on a person's life aside from their pets ? 🤨🧐💯

I love cats. I like it when they are full of energy and hyper like they normally are. But when they get really ill, lethargic and weak it breaks my heart because No-one can stand seeing their pets get ill because it can be alarming to their owners. It's never easy to lose a pet
that man put all that effort and heart into that painting, and all these supposed adults can do is make fun of it. that man’s gonna see this. These people are disgusting.
That’s cruel we all take a risk leaving the house each day a cat will decide what it wants to be just like everything else in life I have both stay home or outdoor they both chose their own paths
@@Sabouma28 where could you possibly live that a cat outside isn’t in danger? They live 1 to 3 years outside, indoors they live their full life . Im just curious?
I truly love what you do for these animals! As a crafter and painter, I was really disappointed in how you guys reacted to the paining that the artist did for you with the dog! He work really hard and he took the time and I don’t feel that any of you appreciated what he did for you! He was trying to give back something with the gift that he does painting! Are you guys did was make fun of it!
They weren’t making fun of the artist or the painting but the fact that it was a giant painting of Chris with his big head! Chris was laughing because of how absurd he thought he looked!
Part indoor part outdoor gets them at risk of being run over. hope Betty gets a catio. In small space it would be a balcony or terrace with netting and access via cat flap. It is much safer. Although this is one cat, he deserves it. Get a birdfeeder outside his reach, it is cat tv. Indoors, even a fake aquarium would be cat tv too. Otherwise, if he would be amenable to a harness, he can be walked, within the outside lawn
A similar thing to what happened to Betty actually happened to my dog Mocha a few years ago and some how my little princess is still alive ❤I love that dog so much
Did the poodle have Von Willebrand's disease? My four children & husband have it & two need to take factor (blood product) when they get a joint bleed or surgery, but when doing research about it, I found dogs can get it too.
On my Aunt's dairy farm I learned that the most trusted lovely shepherd dog was indeed a predator. For some reason, it attacked and ate into one of a set of twin calfs at night. All were shocked and deeply saddened. The dog was put down because it could never be trusted with the dairy cows now. My cousin was devestated. Dogs are predators and when introducing it to other species extreme caution must be taken! I love dogs. Respect that cats and dogs are predators. 😢
That dog was definitely thinking that the turtle was a chew toy or frisbee! The way it kept begging, like, "Throw the new toy!" That poor turtle. My neighbors have aggressive dogs, and even worse, they breed them. One was already taken away for biting people. One attempted to chase me down the street. Just recently, they mauled a feral cat. His two living (and fixed, and vaccinated) siblings come indoors and are no longer really feral, but they are not litter trained yet. I wish I could just close the door and never let them outside ever again! One of them snuggles me at night! I have had her microchipped, so legally, she is mine.
Creative with his vet skills yes, but incredibly insensitive towards humans! What he did and his stuff to this poor artist who put all his talent to create a wonderful portrait of him was not only cruel, but unprofessional!
The story of BlueBell, I remember when she was abandoned with yall and her final story had me in tears. I do not let my kitties outside unless they are on a leash and I am in the process of building another cattery since I have moved. When I moved to Georgia, I lost my Junior to a pack of dogs. Since, not one cat of mine went out side. Yes, they love going out but they hate the leash, but it is my only compromise. Next spring or summer I will be building a new cattery or I may talk my brother in-law to building one. Safety comes first. ❤❤❤

If I had the money, I'd take the 5% chance on that spinal surgery. There's always the alternate choice available further down the line. Sometimes after surgery the swelling goes down and things regenerate, it's rare but with the help of stem cells it's possible.
Boat repair putty for use on a turtle's damaged shell... ingenious idea.☺️😇
The way Pearl’s mum spoke to her daughter on the phone really got my back up. I know she is worried about the dog but her poor daughter didn’t have a clue what was going on and must have been terrified. Even if she couldn’t give details a little reassurance would have been a good start.
She didn’t know I’d she was gonna lose her dog so there was no reassurance to give. Her child is fine the dog was the priority at that moment.
What a beautiful picture!
Okay that Tilly situation was so suspicious…
It’s pretty doable to turn a balcony into a catio, with strong trellis. That way the cat can bask outside and watch the world go by.
loved watching again my favorite vevets at bodi, Australia
That poor Siamese cat that got ran over. She has blood bubbling through her nose jaw is cracking. So sad 🙏🏼❤️
Poor Gwen, that bill must have been so expensive. Glad her baby was ok. ❤
Dr. Chris has GOT to be one of the most handsome vets/guys I have ever seen. . . . so I've been watching a LOT of the Bondi Vet shows lately!!! B*U*T* . . . . was I "surprised" to see SO MUCH more of him than ever, in this Compilation Season 4, @ 22 minutes in . . while he was stitching up that horse with the right shoulder tear!??!?? {Chris - "You don't need to 'act' like a Plumber to attract attention . . . as your front/face/chest are sufficient enough to make an old lady's heart go into defib, anyway!!!!"} Keep just doin' all the WONDERFUL things you do, helping critters & their "Hoomans", and I'll watch you forever!!!!! [Enjoyed a trip "Down Under" back in 1984 . . . BOY, has it changed some!!!] 😍🤩😻😎 CatLassie from California
If you keep your pets inside you won't have to worry about that kind of thing happening!
Absolutely BAWLING my eyes out over Bluebell 😭💔
Thanks i learned a lot ❤🎉
Cool
Thanks
Keep your cats inside!!😊
I love cats. I like it when they are full of energy and hyper like they normally are. But when they get really ill, lethargic and weak it breaks my heart because No-one can stand seeing their pets get ill because it can be alarming to their owners. It's never easy to lose a pet
Great video
that man put all that effort and heart into that painting, and all these supposed adults can do is make fun of it. that man’s gonna see this. These people are disgusting.
Unless your cat is on a leash being taken on a walk please keep your cats indoors. Too many get killed because they are let out. Shame really.
That’s cruel we all take a risk leaving the house each day a cat will decide what it wants to be just like everything else in life I have both stay home or outdoor they both chose their own paths

That attitude leads to dead cats.
I'm very proud of you
When the neighbor said Blue Belle’s owner’s last cat was also ran over by a car….
Poor kitty 😢 keep your cat inside , too many dangers outside!
Depends on where you live
@evilbuttertoffee No. Keep your cats inside, always. You're putting them at risk, and you're endangering local wildlife.
as the previous writer said: depends on where you live....
@@Sabouma28 where could you possibly live that a cat outside isn’t in danger? They live 1 to 3 years outside, indoors they live their full life . Im just curious?
Chris in a suit. Hey mate. Looking good!
This show really bondis my vet
I truly love what you do for these animals! As a crafter and painter, I was really disappointed in how you guys reacted to the paining that the artist did for you with the dog! He work really hard and he took the time and I don’t feel that any of you appreciated what he did for you! He was trying to give back something with the gift that he does painting! Are you guys did was make fun of it!
They weren’t making fun of the artist or the painting but the fact that it was a giant painting of Chris with his big head!
Chris was laughing because of how absurd he thought he looked!
Amazing vet

Thank you for your wonderful comment.❤❤
Part indoor part outdoor gets them at risk of being run over. hope Betty gets a catio. In small space it would be a balcony or terrace with netting and access via cat flap. It is much safer. Although this is one cat, he deserves it. Get a birdfeeder outside his reach, it is cat tv. Indoors, even a fake aquarium would be cat tv too.
Otherwise, if he would be amenable to a harness, he can be walked, within the outside lawn
A similar thing to what happened to Betty actually happened to my dog Mocha a few years ago and some how my little princess is still alive ❤I love that dog so much
I'm so glad I have volume control when it came to "kettle" 😅
Bluebelle... 💔
All I can say is WOW I enjoy watching your video & I envy you big time 🦋🇦🇺🐨🦘
Poor Bluebell Hit me really hard. The wrinkly Shar Pei puppies are so cute.
I detest horse racing. Esp a 2 yr old😢
Did the poodle have Von Willebrand's disease? My four children & husband have it & two need to take factor (blood product) when they get a joint bleed or surgery, but when doing research about it, I found dogs can get it too.
Well spoken.
He is an amazing surgeon 😁😁😁😁
Nets can be used to make balconies safe for cats (and dogs).
Chris is so creativ❤😂😂
Creative with his vet skills yes, but incredibly insensitive towards humans! What he did and his stuff to this poor artist who put all his talent to create a wonderful portrait of him was not only cruel, but unprofessional!
❤Luv ya bunches @Dr. Chris Brown❤
I hope the lovely man that did the painting doesn't watch this episode. 😟
I agree! 😢
