Eastern Counties Motor Club Cine Archive (059): 1960s AutoCross Compilation

A short compilation of silent cine film that Bert Westwood had spliced together onto one reel. It is feasible that footage from the same events are on other videos in this archive. Unfortunately the dates and venues are not known.

Love this, it reminds me of the Autocross events my Father organising/participated in around the early 1960s. A wonderful time for the Club racer, you could be competitive in your class with a road car.

My Father's name was John Cheswright and he was a member of the Margate and District Car Club. After moving house he became a member then later President of the Folkestone and East Kent Car Club. It was during this period he was very much involved in organising Autocross, Driving tests & Rally events. I still have quite a number of documents, photos and a programme from this era.
